Excellent Fit, Finish and Function. Do Not Use The Included Gaskets.
Excellent in fit, finish and function. ACDelco, not original GM, but still, very good. Nicely finished mating surfaces with no leaks. A tip, do NOT use the gaskets provided. Toss them. Instead, use FEL-PRO ES 73010 Engine Water Pump Gasket Kit for Chevrolet Silverado available on Amazon. They are fully half the price of GM originals at only $6.50 for a pair and are clearly twice the quality.

Great quality, great price
Worked out great to replace a leaking water pump on my 2001 GMC 2500HD. Bought a set of Felpro gaskets as another reviewer suggested and I’m extremely happy with that decision. Much better quality than the one that comes with this pump. Well worth the extra $7.

Best replacement pump you can get for your GM/Chevy.
There are other water pumps out there that will "fit," but none of them will fit as nice as this one, made to AC Delco's original specs. Once you get past all the typical, unexpected headaches of getting into your engine compartment to replace a part like this, the repair is actually pretty easy. Barring any unforeseen headaches, even an inexperienced DIY'er could probably get it done in a hour or so, not counting any system flushing or other prep you might want to do before the actual installation. The "kit" comes with all the gaskets you need, and you DO NOT need to add any extra adhesives or sealants. That stuff just makes a mess on/around the mating surfaces and your anchor bolts. For example, my replacement project was delayed for HOURS while I struggled to extract the OE anchor bolts from the old pump body and remove from them all the excess sealant the mechanic who installed it had slopped all over the gasket/port connections. The bead of silicone around the edges of the gasket holes gets compressed between the mating surfaces when you cinch down the anchor bolts, and forms a perfect seal. The pump manufacturer supplies two of their own, "knockoff" version of the AC Delco gasket, but I didn't trust 'em. I ordered the AC Delco ones from Amazon. Note that you'll need TWO of these gaskets, NOT one.If you're also replacing the thermostat (always a good idea when you're changing out the water pump), get the AC Delco one, too. It comes with a built-in o-ring that fits neatly into the thermostat housing and also does not require any additional gasket or sealant. So far, this thing is running totally flawless, and I'm HAPPY that I finally yanked out the old, leaky aftermarket junk that was in there before, and replaced it with the water pump that was MADE for my 2001 Suburban. No more having to check my coolant level every other week, and I know this pump will last a very long time before another replacement is required.

Gaskets are hidden on the bottom of the box. Not obvious at all.
Gaskets where hidden under the bottom flap in the box. They should put a note explaining this. I almost purchased new ones when I didn't see them in the box. Part fit great and went together without any problems. Do wish the part had better packaging inside the box to support the water pump. Box was thick though. Quality part as far as I can tell. My Chevy is back up and running great.

Perfect fit and easy installation.
Perfect fit and not one leak! I installed it myself. Adequate delivery time. No complaints! I would definitely recommend to others. First time changing original water pump on my 2003 5.3 V8 Tahoe. Thank you so much. My old water pump was noisy and leaking. Agin, perfect fit and for the first time in a long time don’t have to top off or refill antifreeze reservoir.

2000 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L
I bought this pump to resolve a coolant leak. I figured it would either be the gaskets or the impeller shaft seal, and I didn't want to tear everything apart just to replace gaskets.Well, it turned out to be the gaskets anyway, but this AC Delco pump is a good product. It, of course, fit precisely into place and was of good construction. The casting for the inlet/outlet ports had some slag left in them, but that's really the only problem with construction. It came with instructions for installation and an O-Ring or Paper Gasket for the thermostat housing (depending on your particular configuration). The holes tapped for the tensioner had no problems when I inserted and torqued the bolts. It also came with (2)impregnated rubber gasket plates to go between the pump inlet/outlet ports and the engine block. I ordered 2 gaskets from rockauto made by AC Delco before ordering this pump, since I wasn't sure if they would be included. The gaskets I ordered separately from rockauto were of better construction than the ones included in the box with the pump, which is strange considering they're both AC Delco parts. The impeller shaft appears to be made of a good grade of stainless steel and is threaded very precisely for attachment of the fan clutch assembly. It is protected by a blue plastic cap to avoid thread nicks in shipping. The only other drawback is that this part had "Made in China" laser etched into the pump housing casting. I'm not sure if the parts are sourced form overseas vendors and then assembled in the US, but either way it's a turn-off.I give it 4 stars because at least part of it is made in China, and the included gaskets were not very impressive.

Better quality than a parts store for less money!
You are paying less money for a better product when you get this vs a parts store pump.

Cheaper than a dealership
The gm dealer wanted over 300 for this water pump and all the parts stores wanted around 150. Bought this one from Amazon for 97 dollars and it's been great
