Are the screw bits laser etched for extra grip like their standard screw driver set?

Not that I could tell. As a matter of fact I had the p2 bit break when it was being used in a impact driver. The bits aren't the strongest but loading the handle with bits of your choosing was not a big deal for me. I just kept a couple dewalt p2's in the handle since that's the bit I used the most and often in an impact.

What is the difference between this item and the Wera Kraftform Kompakt 26?

I don't have so don't know about Wera Kraftform Kompakt 26. But this Wera is one of my go-to screwdrivers. It is NOT a ratcheting one, but it works well as Universal screwdriver. It's bitholder has a lock/inlock action on small hex bits. Also the bitholder can be released from the handle and put into an electric drill (but be careful on using high torque as it can strip screw heads). It's a high quality tool that fits well into one's hand. it comes with a nylon fabric pouch.
