This is such a beautifully written book. Within a reference of Jungian psychology, Clarissa Pinkolas Estes uses folk tales and ancient stories to paint a picture of what it means to be a wild woman. "The wild woman is an endangered species. We have to be the protectionist." It inspires us to remember our authenticity and wildness, which is what we truly are.

This is a life changing book. I was given a copy nearly 35 years ago, I've since given my daughter's a copy & anyone else who's in need. It might seem odd to begin with because of the use of story etc but please keep going.I bought this to replace my battered, sellotaped, written on copy.Read it girls!!!

Clarissa Pinkola Esta is an amazing mind, heart and spirit. If you love the tales of old and the lessons they teach, this is a book for you. Also check out her audio book

No other book has had such an impact on my life. I recommend it to everyone woman I know!

A classic book yet still very inspiring for current times. Although western women have been liberating themselves for several decades now, this book digs deep into the female psyche and shows women how to to be whole. If my twenty-something year old daughter actually got round to reading books (sadly a lot of young people don't bother today) it would be one of my first recommended reads.

A must read for those interested in anthropology and psychology. Beautiful book and cover although a bit worn as some pages slightly ripped corners bent

Incredible book, from both a psychological perspective and as fuel for the imagination of artists and authors/creative writers. This book floods insights into the practice of story telling and gives good for thought on how I could be used in psychological practices, holistic arenas and arts forums. Excellent information for woman of all ages and a superb bibliography to study.

read it. in two or three pages, that's a story. then the wisdom. so you can read just a few pages at a time. and still read a story and have pause for thought... which you should enjoy. read it. keep it. and buy it for others.

The different stories in the books showcase the different life lessons and truths in the world. Was truly interesting

Highly recommend reading this book for women. Best book I’ve ever read, it is a slow read, something to contemplate as you read. This is my bible now, so many aha moments, realizations and have learned so much about myself, relationships and the warrior woman inside. Best book ever in my opinion.

I love this book so much. I recommend reading it in English (the original lenguage) if you can. It was pretty good in Spanish but the English version is better.
