This is a painful camera to setup, I'm very IT literate I work in the IT industry and I've had previous webcams before (Foscams) and thought this would be a nice upgrade as my previous camera was only standard definition, having 1080p seemed like the logical choice and the ability to record to Micro SD seemed like a brilliant idea. However my joys were short lived, I unboxed the camera and plugged it into my router directly via an ethernet cable.Started the camera up and did a quick scan of my network for the camera, sure enough it had an assigned IP and I thought ok never mind messing about with the phone app I'll just connect to the interface directly via my Mac (bear in mind I'd asked specifically if this camera was Mac compatible and I was told it was), tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsingto the cameras IP and got absolutly nother.....Alright I thought I'll do a quick port scan maybe the camera is listening on a different port, for some reason ports 23456 and 34567 were open, tried browsing to both ports and still got nothing.......THIS CAMERA HAS NO DIRECT INTERFACE !!.Alright I though if I must I'll use the IOS app, downloaded the app and went to try and connect to my camera after I installed the app, I got a mesage telling me my LAN was too slow !!!!........What on earth is this camera on about its plugged directly into my router using a Cat 6 cable on a 1Gbb port my LAN is plenty fast enough. Alright I thought I'll try and connect via WIFI (bear in mind I have a Tri band ASUS RT5300 router here, I'm not using some crap given to me by an ISP I'm using some serious WIFI kit here, I know the camera only supported 2.4GHZ but even so the camera was literally 50cm away from the router, it couldn't have been a stronger signal. The app tells you to stick your iphone net to the camera turn up the volume and somehow your camera is supposed to masgically setup listening to a few pops and squeels......ret assurred this DOES NOT WORK and if you managed to get your camera setup in this way you're a better person than me........Feeling very frustrated now I went back to the LAN setup, again I got the message my LAN was too slow, out of desperation I turned off the camera and turned it back on, that magically fixed it and I could now see my camera image, seems my network was fast enough after all eh FREDI.Alright I thought maybe theres a setting now the camera is onle to share the camera out or open a port or in some way make it accessible to a browser on a Mac......nope, tried doing the sharing option which is a painful process in itself ended up having to make a second account on a second device (my iPad) just to make a valid account to share, guess what this still doesn't give you browser access Tried looking in the Mac App Store and couldn't find any apps that looked remotely like anything useful for controlling this camera.The biggest joke though is the manual, its written in the worst English you've ever seen with screenshots that are totally illegible as they are so small, the language in the manual is clearly written by a non native English speaker and its difficult in parts to make sense of what its trying to say, any understndable sections are completely unhelpful and tell you nothing of what you really need to know.Overall if having access to your camera via a phone or iPad or similar is what you want then its probably not too bad a purchase, once you've battled through the very painful setup which is not just a few click and 1-2 minutes then its probably not a bad camera. But for me its frustratingly devoid of features I actually need, I dont want to have to keep picking up my phone to look out the cmera I want to be able to do it from my computer, why isn't this just there as standard ???. Sorry its going back for a refund.

Needed one of these to keep an eye on a house which is empty at the moment. The reviews seemed mixed but someone recommended this so I bought it to give it a go. A number of the things people had problems with have either been fixed or were possibly user error. It connected up easily and I could see the video straight away. It is pretty responsive when you want to change the angle. You can record to a memory card (you need to add this) and I had this going easily. I assume once the card is full it re-uses the space. You can see where motion is detected as a line on the track and you can go adjust the video to go back to any point easily. You can also record to the cloud. I had a little trouble getting this going initially but the support email service worked well and helped me sort out the problem. You get a free month of service to try it out. If you want to continue you opt for either 7 or 30 day history. You can pay by the month or its cheaper for the year. The 7 day history service bought for a year is, I thought, a very reasonable $8. There is also an alert service which notifies your phone if there is motion detected. It puts an entry in a log and you can use this to easily find the right spot on the video. The motion sensitivity is adjustable. I have not explored this functionality very much. I was amazed at what you get for the price. I have only used this one so cannot compare with others but I was very pleased. I plan to buy another.

Got this as a replacement for my Motorola Smart Nursery camera, the motion detection in comparison is awful and don’t have the luxury of being able to trust the camera to notify you of a movement, you have to have it constantly open on your device. It also won’t load on two devices at once whilst using the same username, which is an issue when you only have one phone number. The picture quality is really good and so is the night vision. The microphone quality is poor and the sound levels that come through aren’t very loud or useful. Also disappointed that the camera didn’t come with an SD card so can’t record any clips with motion detection. The price is cheap and good for the quality of the video however other functions leave a lot to be desired.

Great picture quality but the device goes offline at random times. I bought this specifically to be able to video nighttime seizures and to be fair I can do this as long as it doesn’t crash and go offline. The movement sensor is very hit and miss, occasionally goes off when there is no movement yet will not always go off when I walk straight in front of it.I have had contact with the company to assist in problems when it has gone offline and they have been very supportive at getting it back online.

I had a problem setting it up as the instructions were so small, but the supplier did help me. Its great being able to watch what my pups get up to when I'm away from home (I think). I now know that there is only 1 destructive dog. I can't read the memory card. I've tried it on all different devices, but no luck.There is quite a long time delay on my phone due to the fact my home has very poor broadband.

I don't have much experience in this technology but was an easy set up.App was straight forwardGood vision for keeping an eye on the baby for false wake up times as can't hear in the other part of house.Occasionally turns itself off , not sure why, but probably too fo with the wifi signal

Purchased to monitor inside of house, in conjunction with alarm system. Good alerts to your phone, good picture quality, good coverage of ground floor. For the money, would recommend set up can take a while when connecting to router, but once done you can add other devices to receive alerts

Timely and helpful customer service response when I upgraded my phone to a new handset.Eventually I worked it out as to how to reconfigure the new phone to the camera. You might have to wait a few hours for a response but you will have one and a friendly, helpful one at that. Camera works very well and I can see my dog when I am at work.Excellent value for money.
