Long lasting
A month later, and I am still on my first sponge. They work well--very well even. I didn't expect the little cutout areas to be of any benefit, but they actually provide a handy place to scrape the tip of the iron on to remove solder globs or other debris.

Okay product
The sponges are smaller than expected and don't fit perfectly into the Hako stand, but work perfectly for their intended purpose.

Great replacement for the Hakko sponges
I have a Hakko FX-888D soldering station. The original sponge is long gone and I have made replacements out of household sponges cut out with some kitchen shears. While that does work, I did not like them compared to the original Hakko sponge. (It was a challenge to cut them out such that when watered they did not expand and bulge out of the sponge holder.) These sponges fit the Hakko soldering iron base/holder and perform as expected when cleaning the tip. Since I now have 10 of them, I am good for quite a while.

Nice to have extras as these sponges always seem to disappear in the shop.

Good value, Works well
These sponges are a good value for the price. The cutouts hold up well, and help to clean pointed and chisel tips. But, I wish they were a little thicker than the current 1cm wet thickness.

Work fine, a little small for Hakko soldering station
I got these as spares for my Hakko 888 soldering station just because they are a lot less expensive than the Hakko product. They look tiny, but swell up a lot when wet, but they still don't completely fill the sponge holder on the soldering iron stand as well as the original, and they are a little thinner. However, that is more of a cosmetic issue, as they work fine for cleaning the tip.

Bought these to replace a worn out sponge in a Hakko fx-888d soldering station. They are just a little smaller but still work great.

I thought they looked small, but full expand when wet.
I thought these seemed like they would be way too small for the tray where my original hakko sponge went (my dogs chewed it to pieces), but when you give them water, they expand and fill the tray nicely. They seem to work as well as the original and were in expensive. Happy with the purchase.
