Previously owned on PS3...now I have it on PS4
I previously reviewed this product on the PS3 (my original review is copied below) and decided to get it on the PS4. For those of you who have it on the PS3 and are wondering if you want to get it on the PS4, is it worth the change? The quick answer is no. You won't see any enhancements or graphical upgrades or functional differences between the 2 versions. The only significant advantage that I can report on is that the load times are considerably snappier on the more powerful platform. That said, Rayman Legends is still eye-candy and the animation is simply stunning regardless of which console you get it on.If you were on the fence before and haven't picked it up yet, picking it up at its release price of just under 40 dollars is well worth it and you should read my original review below.[Original Review From PS3 Version]My daughter and I are quite familiar with platformers in general. In fact, we have been a daddy-daughter team ever since she first played with me on Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2. We have also played Super Mario Bros. Wii and others as well. When I first picked up Rayman Origins (which precedes this title), I knew very little about Rayman in general. I picked up Rayman Origins for $19.99 as a Xmas present. Little did I know what a hit it would be with BOTH of us.Rayman Legends follows in the same vein as our main, limbless protagonist, Rayman, is once again awakened to rescue the lumas and teensies from the denizens of a multitude of evil characters. Rayman will need to jump, sprint, "float" (his ears will whip around like a helicopter), and punch his way to victory. What makes the game even more fun is the ability to have up to 4 people play co-op at the same time, albeit only on the same console. It's still sad that online support is inexplicably absent and it would have certainly encouraged other family members in other cities to purchase it and join in on the fun. However, it's still an absolute blast. If you loved Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends will stagger you. The sheer volume of unlockable content that is available will ensure the longevity of this title, especially for completionists like me. However, like Origins, if you're into it just to beat the "main storyline", so to speak, the game does cater to that level of satisfaction for those of use who don't have the cat-like alacrity to nail every jump perfectly. It's a game that can be enjoyed from both beginners to experts alike, and comical for all.Special mention should be made to the art direction and music. Rayman Origins had beautiful visuals and Legends (despite being released almost on the heels of Origins) does not fail to disappoint either; I'd almost say that it exceeds Origins if it were possible. I love how level design has moved away from an almost Mario-like stage progression map to a gallery of artwork that your character(s) hop into to get to the levels that you'll play. The music fits the level designs perfectly and the cartoon-like artwork in each level is extremely fluid with no discernible framerate hiccups. It's flawless as a platformer could possibly get and I can't spot a single element in this game that didn't appear to have a great deal of love and attention. The same goes for the level design - everything that can be unlocked in the game is achievable without a single item feeling like a "cheat". Truthfully, some areas require a significant amount of skill, but it's skill nonetheless--not poor level design--that will be your only hindrance for getting EVERYTHING.Rayman Legends is one of the few platformers out there that are worthy of the full MSRP release value. While the online component is still sadly missing, there is still plenty of side-splitting, couch-sharing fun to be had here.

A platforming masterpiece
After playing and enjoying Rayman Origins, buying Rayman Legends was a no-brainer. The foundation of Rayman remains firmly in place, while some nice online pieces were added on.Combat -- There's really nothing new here. You can attack bad guys one of two ways: Jump on top of their heads, or use a melee attack. I know it sounds simplistic, but it's extremely fun. Of course, there are no combos per se, but you can string together a few kills, by bouncing on the heads of opponents that are close together. Also, if you melee attack an enemy that's in the proximity of other enemies, there's a good chance he'll pinball into the rest of them, taking them all out. Sorry, that's the most interesting thing I have, regarding combat.Weaponry -- Well, it's a side-scrolling platformer, so weapons are pretty much nonexistent. I'll do the best I can with this one... If you play as Rayman or Globox (or whatever the hell his name is), your fists are considered 'weapons'. If you play as Barbara, or one of her many sisters, you'll ACTUALLY have a real weapon - Well, kinda. They all wield some type of sword or axe, and it works the same way as Rayman's fists, just looks different. If you play as one of the Teensies, you'll use magic as your only weapon. Ok, Its not really 'magic'. If you press the attack button, the Teensy will shoot out something from it's hand, and it kills the enemy, so in my book, that's a damn magic attack.Enemies -- The enemy variety is ok, but nothing special. If we can be honest with ourselves, I think we know who the true enemy is - The environment! Just like any other platformer that's worth its salt, the environment is tricky, and sure to keep you on your toes. However, the Rayman franchise introduced a 'wrinkle' that I've never seen in a platformer game. While making your way through the treacherous environment, be sure to look out for trapped Teensies, so that you can save them. There are ten in each level, some are in plain sight, while others are well hidden. You don't have to save any of them, but I highly recommend it because it makes the game more challenging. Otherwise, you might feel like you're just going through the motions. Oh, before I forget. There are 5 boss battles, and they're all extremely difficult, but not cheap. You'll die a lot, but the game has such a whimsical vibe to it, you won't even care.Miscellaneous -- The coolest thing about Rayman Legends are the brand new online challenges. Online challenges are based on scores, and you can earn a bronze, silver, or gold trophy. Some challenges are daily, meaning the level design and objective will change every 24 hours, while other challenges are weekly. At the end of the 24 hour cycle (or weekly cycle), trophies are handed out to those who've qualified. I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but I've earned my fair share of trophies, and it wasn't easy. It's not a terribly long game, so you shouldn't have any trouble finishing it under 20 hours. It's refreshing to play a side-scroller that's really fun, unlike some other side-scrolling games I know of COUGHS dragon's crown COUGHS. Sorry about that, I'm a bit congested, better grab some Sudafed...I'll be objective and point out the one thing I didn't like. I wish there was an online co-op mode because the local co-op mode does me no good. I love everything else about the game. If you're wanting a break from a shooter game, or maybe you're sick of button mashing your way through action games. At any rate, ignore the 'baby game' stigma that has been unfairly attached to the Rayman franchise. The Rayman games are very fun, and harder than you think. Speaking of hard games; Bloodborne, you're up next!

Rayman Legends - Play it to experience the fun!
I wanted a game that I could play with my 6yr old daughter, and after a lot of research I ended up buying this game. My daughter could play Starlit Adventures very well, so I wanted something that would have a similar gameplay pattern. The graphics are so good, the gameplay is buttery smooth on a PS4 , but that's not the best part yet, the best past is its music. Oh my daughter loves the orchasteral gameplay levels where the music is synced with every move you're supposed to make.A highly recommended game - probably as good as Super Mario of today's generation.

Altamente recomendable!

Me and my sister are crazy for this game as we have a great time that is full of laughter. Yes, it's a multiplayer game with upto 4 players. You should buy this game if you want to have a fun time. And this is not just for kids. Plus the music is great too. Recommended.

Creative and classy
4 hours into the game and I am loving it. The levels are highly creative, music is the best I have heard in any Ps4 game and there is lot of replay value as well.levels in the game are grouped into worlds. The last level in each world is a musical level. The game developers have nailed these last levels. It is a treat to play. There are enough levels in the game to keep you engaged for at least 10 hours. I would highly recommend this game to everyone.

One of the best games in this genre
One of the best games in this genre. I'm talking all time here. At first I was almost ready to right it off due to the art style. I'm glad I did not. This is one of the most satisfying games I've ever played. Legends has an absurd amount of content. It is literally 2 games in one.
