Great Cleaner and Lubricant
I "discovered" Ballistol over 20 years and have used it ever since on everything from cleaning and maintaining firearms, to lubricating anything metal like door hinges, locks, socket wrenches, pliers, tools... you name it. Great product. Even can be used on wood and leather as a protectant. This product and RemOil are my "go to" lubricants.

My go to for lubrication
Ballistol is a great lube for everything from leather to firearms if you can handle the residual odor that tends to linger. It's a little smelly, some folks hate it and others, like myself, get used to it and actually grow to enjoy it. It's not the least expensive lube on the market but it's tried and true. Are there better products on the market? Sure, but most of them are geared towards a specific use and only good for that. Ballistol has a wide range of applications and it's also carcinogen free and skin safe which makes it a superior product in my humble and unsolicited opinion. I use it primarily for firearms lubrication, it leaves an almost grease like film when applied generously which keeps moving parts from wearing prematurely. I'll also douse a ripcord with it and run it through the barrel before and after shooting to help prolong the life of it as well.

I use this for cleaning the bore of my pcp air rifle.
They claim this won't hurt the rubber seals in air rifles and also not harm wood, plastic, rubber etc. It seems to work just fine. As an overall lubricant for firearms, I use BreakFree CLP.

This is great for firearms and just about everything else. It is about the best on the market for firearms

Good multipurpose lubricant/cleaner/protectant with an interesting history
Good multipurpose lubricant/cleaner/protectant. Use it to clean & lube firearms as well as my work boots. The official Ballistol web site has the whole history of this stuff, but in summary it was invented in 1904 - prior to WWI - for the German Imperial army and the requirements were that it had to clean & lube firearms, clean and protect wood, metal, and leather AND dress minor wounds (apparently it has some Good multipurpose lubricant/cleaner/protectant properties)! I don't think the Ballistol company recommends it be used for wounds anymore...Wikipedia has good info on the stuff and the German site (ballistol-shop.de - you can switch it to English in the top right corner) has a TON of info. It sounds like a snake oil product, but Germans - including the military - have been using it for more than 100 years (supposedly some units in today's German Army still use it)...Since I bought this on Amazon, I've found a local store that sells it for 10-15% less! Nice!

Easy Gun Cleaning, what's with the S&H?!?!
Pro:I like to fire my guns, not clean them, and Ballistol makes clean-up time much faster since it cleans AND lubricates...doing both *extremely* well. I also like the fact that it naturally leaves a thin film on surfaces as I tend to have a problem with going too heavy on lubing my guns with Hoppe's oil...wipe on/wipe off/film remains/easy stuff. I am also sloppy as I get impatient cleaning and appreciate the fact that Ballistol is good for all gun surfaces to include metals, wood and plastic/polymers, so there is no such thing as an "oops" overspray. Somehow it doesn't leave polymer grips slick if you give it a few extra rubs with a cloth. This stuff was invented in pre-World War I Germany and it's easy to see why it's still around.Con:I purchased the sample pack this time around and in hindsight I saw that it would have been a few bucks cheaper if I had simply bought the three cans separately. I guess if the standard-size spray nozzle and aerosol straw holder (whatever that is!) included in the sample pack is worth $4 after shipping, then stick with the sample pack, I just figure a sample pack should save you some coin.I received the package late and the bottles were wrapped in some kind of gunk-covered saran wrap surrounded by old newspaper; I'm not sure what this wrap is but I can say the cans hadn't leaked. The wrap left a sticky residue all over my hands and it took a awhile to wash it off. Firehawk Technology seems to be the license owner of Ballistol USA and I am surprised at how unprofessionally it was packed by the "main man". My previous cans of Ballistol were purchased by an authorized reseller on eBay and that's where I will continue to purchase my cans.Summary:For keeping your firearms running smooth, Ballistol is more convenient, more effective, and less messy than the solvent/oil method plus it's non-toxic, bio-degradable and can be used for numerous other household tasks. It's a bit more expensive than other products but it's definitely worth it!!! I would however, recommend ordering it from another source until Firehawk sorts out their shipping & handling.

Excellent product
After using Ballistol for a number of years with excellent results I found that the aerosol propellant would quick working and I would still have 1/2 a can left. Total waste....so when I saw this in liquid form and simply put it into a small spray bottle it works like a charm with no waste !! Would definitely purchase again and highly recommend the product in this form.++

Fast, friendly and accurate.
5 stars for faster then anticipated delivery, product was as described and shipped well.Only one concern was that it was delivered by USPS and arrived in my mailbox, I thought that was a little weird but all in all I’m glad with everything.
