How do I scan a document from the HP deskjet 1050a printer into my laptop>

when you want to scan a document/ letter or a picture. ( firstly ) ensure the front flap where printed paper pops out of the printer is closed. Then press scan. As soon as the scanning in complete it'll open a window on your screen, your looking for the words ' scan001'.On my screen I get a little face in a reddish box with the word ' scanned 001 - or scanned 002' click on that and what ever you scanned will open, once you have scanned it you simply drag it onto your desktop Or move to a folder. * I think the scanned 001 - 2 would change showing how many documents have been scanned. I always action mine, this is why It shows me scanned 001 0r scanned 002. Hope this helps.

How to download the hp1050 printer

If you mean the printer drive just google the exact model of the printer + drive and you should be able to find it (choose the one that corresponds to your computer's operative system eg Windows Vista, 8 or Mac)

does this come with ink

Comes with 1X 301 Tri Colour and 1X 301 Black.

How long does this printer last and is there a warranty? My previous lasted three years, was more expensive.

To be honest, I cannot even remember when I bought mine but it goes on and on... and on. I guess there was some sort of warranty but I have never worried about it. I gave up Epsoms years ago. I have two HP printers, one at home and one in my office. Both work to at least two computers and I am happy with them both. the only problem I have is that they are now old and are not so easy with Windows 8.1 but that is a Windows problem not an HP problem.
