Excellent Servo!
Excellent, (it should be) the standard replacement for the Redcat 3 kgm steering servo even before it blows, and it will blow.First of all, let me explain terms: To me, a servo STARTS at 15kg. Anything smaller is most likely plastic somewhere. It only takes one plastic gear to muck up the whole works and they're almost as thin as watch gears. You do the math... I had a 6kg blow just testing a servo saver on it in my hand. Brand wise, you even have to check the 15's. So, as far as Redcat goes, before you even start, every servo not at least a HexFly 15Kg should be replaced even before you use it. I don't care if it's just a throttle servo on a nitro. That servo also controls your brake! I had a 3kg blow just turning a car around on the street! And, if you dress your vehicle up with aluminum, you're putting serious money into it. Don't crash it because it has a cheap plastic servo in it, no matter the brand. That's the main reason I don't use Futaba, ever try to find one even rated at 15kgm, let alone with all metal gears? They're out there, good luck finding one however. At 30 dollars these 15kg HexFly's are a good quality, very heavy duty servo and exceed much more expensive units. At 15 dollars, buy as many as you can! LOL I run up to a Spectrum 6040 Titanium Digital and these HexFlys are excellent steering servos for cars/ trucks/ crawlers. Anything 1/10th scale. All metal gears and very powerful. I've never had one of these fail and unlike Traxxas, they're all metal; Redcat/ HexFly don't talk a fake game; in fact, they don't talk at all, they just give you good stuff. I guess talk is cheaper then metal gears, eh?. LOLThe big heavy Ground Pounder's with their giant wheels, use a pair of these for front and rear steering without servo savers at all, and still they don't have problems with them. They'll bow the heck out of their solid aluminum HUGE heavy duty tie rods, but can't hurt the servos. I think that's all you need to know.I build very expensive cars and use these with confidence. They have no problem keeping up with the Gyro's. I also build very expensive trucks and the upgraded aluminum servo savers grind themselves to pieces before these go bad..Note: These come naked. What you see is all you get.Highly recommended

Works great!
Bought o replace a bad sreering sevo in my Redcat Terremoto V2 rc truck. I have an older Losi9516 speed controller and receiver installed. Works well with it and mounted perfectly. Responsive, tough, and looks great.

You either need this now, or you will soon
Just buy this, even if your plastic gear servo hasn't broken yet (it will). I'm new to RC and have a Redcat Blackout brushed and a Redcat Caldera brushless. I went through several of the cheaper 3's before I realized you could get this 15 with metal gears. Just buy it, you won't regret it. Works well, lasts much longer (so far hasn't broken) and I think it responds a little quicker. I also got a 5 pack of SkyQ 25T M3 servo arms, they work well and don't break either

Takes a bigger screw than the original
Have not had a chance to really put it through its paces yet, but have a lot of confidence it will do well, at least far better than the servo that cam installed on my Blackout XTE. Cable is long, much longer than the original on my car, so getting it routed through right was a bit tricky, but it worked fine. Plugged in and was all good. One thing I have noticed though, this servo takes a larger size screw to attach it to the steering horn and servo saver than the one that is on the original servo. I am still looking for a screw that is the right size and threading but it long enough. Basically, it takes a screw the size and threading of the mounting screws, just in a longer version so that it can go through the Horn, Saver, and into the Servo. Given that this one is metal gears and rated at 15kg and the original was plastic gears rather at about 3kg, I am sure it will perform much better, especially with the larger tires I put on my Blackout.

Very strong torque and very responsive.
It fit fine on my rc truck and it was a good price and fast shipping.

Only good for a couple uses.
These work fine until the vibration of your rc wears the inside wires apart. Solder is not that great on these. I have replaced two already for same reason.

2nd Time's a Charm?
I had one of these come stock in my Redcat Racing Rampage MT as a throttle servo which uses a 6v NiMhi battery pack. After a few runs the servo stopped working. So I replaced it with a Savox brand servo. The Savox lasted longer, but it too is now going on the fritz acting erratically. So now I've got another HexFly and intend on using a BEC on it and hopefully stop the slaughter of all these servos.

Good upgrade to the garbage plasticg gear 3kg
My Redcat’s stock 3kg plastic gear servo stripped in no time and then they warrantied it with an “upgraded” 6kg plastic gear servo which also stripped in no time. This steel gear servo is a key upgrade in my opinion. Lots of torque, you just need a bigger screw to install the arm to it which they should have supplied.
