I've seen the same complaint but I've always received the authentic item; identical to the ones from the Origins store. I've used it for years from both sources. I hope you're not disappointed.

What does trade mean in the description?

I don’t know, the only thing I can think of is it is their own trade secret on how it is whipped.

Is the container glass or plastic? is the cap made out of metal?

both is bpa free plastic. Origins does not product souffle in metalic or glass jar. They have new powder mask which came in metal tin. But not for the ginger souffle yet
