Q: Is this cooked or raw?

It's already cooked so you CAN eat it right out of the can! I use this alot so if you want my suggestion (especially if you have never used jackfruit before) simmer in water for a LEAST 30 min then rinse to get brine taste off if using for bbq or meat substitute. No need in my opinion if using for a "chicken" salad type of dish. Enjoy!😁

Q: Brine, water, or syrup? What are the used of each?

i've used other brands of jackfruit in water or brine and love them... but this one came and had lime juice listed on the label which i was not aware of since it's not listed here. i didn't like this one- i had the back taste of a tanginess which didn't work well with the 'chik'n' style casserole i made. i probably will only use this with bbq recipe...and use up the other cans but i won't order this brand again. (and yes, i rinsed and rinsed it!)
