Q: will is scan 11x17? There are conflicts in Amazon's description.

I just scanned an 11" X 17" image with my HP Officejet Pro 7740. How, go to Windows System. open. Click on Control Panel, open Hardware & Sound, open Devices & Printers. Click on HP Officejet 7740 series and look at the tool bar at top, click start scan. The window New Scan should come up. Check source, file type, resolution, etc. and click scan. After your image goes through the process there will be a window for importing your scanned image. Click next and click import. Open in the program of your choice. My NON-TECK advice. Hope this helps.

Q: will this printer print multiple 11x17 at once or do you have to feed the paper one at a time in the back?

The bottom tray allows you to load 11 x 17 paper, so that you can print multiple copies. The unwelcome surprise is that you have to expand the bottom tray to load the paper. It sticks out a full 3 inches, which HP doesn't show in any of its product images. I may return it on that basis. The entire installation process was a nightmare, too.

Q: Can this printer use third party inks?

Do not do firmware update when starting 1st time, then disengage updates to not allow firmware updating. Printer will then except 3rd party inks.

No different O yes a Mac pro, a Windows 10, my old CO, iPhone and android

An affordable home based business printer capable of printing, copying, and scanning 11"x17" black & white as well as color documents. The only thing so far is it would be nice to be able to scan 11"x17" documents using the ADF (automatic document feeder). This unit limits ADF to maximum size of 8 1/2" x 14" document size. However, the copier surface of the printer provides for copying and scanning up to 11"x17" documents, a page at a time. Otherwise great prints, very easy set up, was printing, scanning, and faxing within just a few minutes after unboxing the unit. Mobile printing was a breeze using iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphone and tablets. Another really nice feature is this printer has two (2) paper trays. Tray 1: 3 x 5 to 11.7 x 17 in; Tray 2: 8.5 x 11 to 11.7 x 17 in. NOTE - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ERROR: The product description for this printer on Amazon states to use 932 and 933 print cartridges. The unit comes with 952 and 953 print cartridges and HP's website states to use 952 and 953 print cartridges. So when you buy extra print cartridges be sure to buy the 952 and 953. I recommend the 952XL and 953XL for extended printing (the XL print cartridges are larger than the regular 952 and 953 cartridges and hold more ink).
