Okay, it works—but the smell? Yikes.
So here’s my chaotic hair journey: I’ve been bleaching like crazy trying to get that beige-blonde-ashy vibe… but ended up with an orangey-brown “whatever” shade. In a panic, I slapped on a level 6brown ash to tone it, but instead of cool tones, my hair turned burgundy eggplant purple. 😩 Total disaster—and my hair is already super damaged. With an event the next day, I had no time. I ordered this color remover overnight, applied it immediately, and… it worked! It pulled out most of the purple and brought me back to a lighter orangey-brown shade. Not perfect, but at least I didn’t look like a plum. Now the catch: the smell is awful, especially after wash. Think wet rotten eggs with chemicals in a sauna. But honestly, for a product that saved my hair from disaster in under an hour? I’ll take the stink. I kept the product for 25 min only as my hair is pretty damaged a nuddles look when wet.Followed it up with Keracolor conditioning dye (3rd image)—and finally, I can breathe again. Not originally wat i was planing, but crisis is over and I will be okay with dark honey woody mode :)

Did the job but at a price
I had dyed my hair burgundy a while back and it had faded to a kind of pinky-red. I wanted to transition to a blue-based color. Typically, I bleach my hair over the color and it works just fine, but this time my bleach test was a little rough so I decided to try Color Oops for the first time. I wish I'd just stuck with the bleach. The Color Oops worked, my hair is back to looking as if the red was never there, however it came with a steep price. First, the instructions are to rinse your hair, wash with shampoo, then rinse for 15-20 minutes, shampoo again, rinse for 5 minutes, shampoo for a third time, then rinse another 5 minutes before applying conditioner. I was in the shower for nearly 45 minutes. Two days after using it, my bathroom (and attached bedroom) still smell strongly of the chemicals, despite opening the window and running an air purifier for nearly 36 hours plus two liberal rounds of Febreeze spray. I could even smell it on my hands despite wearing the provided gloves. While washing it out, my hair felt very brittle and rough. Thankfully this has subsided but I was actually pretty nervous for a while about the texture. Also, while washing I noticed two small chunks that had turned green. This has also thankfully gone away.Last, I ordered the listing that said "2-Count" but only received one of the product. In the end though, I'm thankful for that in a way because I can't see myself ever using Color Oops again.Edit a few months later: I've knocked it down from 3 to 1 star because I believe Color Oops contributed to the failure of my next hair dye. I used the same brand I've been using off and on for a decade and had my first bad experience with it. I waited a few days after using the Color Oops even though the box boasts that you can recolor the same day. The color came out uneven and extremely light. After a couple weeks of being increasingly annoyed and disappointed, I decided to just do my normal routine of bleaching the color out then dying the next day. I did the same color again and it came out ten times better. I can't completely prove it was related to the Color Oops but the coincidence is too strong for me.

It works!!
Worked surprisingly well!! Holey moley, I was not expecting the results I got. I've been using box color for 25 years... usually very dark brown (similar to my naturalcolor), but for the past year I was using Feria 521 Cool Amethyst.. it was fun cool deep purpley brown and I really liked it for awhile but my hair just felt like it was getting more damaged each time I used it. I decided its time to go back to an ashy brown and bought this to remove the purple. Omg... I think the Feria was lifting before depositing color because I only left the Oops on for 20 min as directed and my hair was sooo light afterwards! I was shocked.. I haven't bleached my hair in at least 3 years (only balayage) and I haven't done all-over bleach since I was a teenager. I honestly didn't think it was too bad but I wanted to fight the brass so I used a blue shampoo and purple conditioner and am giving my hair a little break. I'm actually getting so many compliments on the color it stripped down too.. maybe I'll put my brown box color to the side for awhile and sport this dark blonde color for the summer..1st pic - freshly dyed hair2nd pic - faded/washed out dye3rd pic - right after Oops4th pic - toned down with violet/blue shampoo/conditioner and styled

I'm not mad at it
I've died my hair box color pitch black for 7 years. So I'm amazed it did anything. It brought it back to a light copper brown which I can work with so, amazing. The cons of this product are the process and the smell. You think you take long showers sometimes? No. Standing there for 40 minutes rinsing (per directions) will be the longest 40 minutes you've every had... I was so bored but very clean. Set a timer so you don't gas light yourself. The smell is like rotten eggs and burnt butt hairs. Like a perm. And it lingers. Day 2 after showering and I still wouldn't be my friend.I read a comment that the "same day color after" didn't work out for them. I touched up my roots today, a day after, and it took it fine.

Did not work as well as expected.
This did not work as well as I thought it would. I used 2 boxes on my hair. I had a very blonde hair and dyed it brown. I used this kit to remove the brown and go back to blonde. My hair is now an orange color, which I don’t hate honestly. It did less damage to my hair that I expected. Which I appreciate. The first picture is before the oops was applied. The second picture was after the first box and the third picture was after the second box. I was hoping to just have to tone my hair after using OOPs. Now I will be bleaching and toning my hair. Rinsing your hair for 20 minutes after application was not affective and boring.
