Save the Cat!: The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need

Great book for storytellers. The basic knowledge to prepare the structure of the story is given in a simple manner. Loved it.

This is a brilliant book. The writer has saved on pages and not wisdom. Filled with accurate information and movie references Blake builds his case perfectly on how some very common sense still works over mumbo jumbo. If you're a screenplay writer (novice or practising) or a broadcast professional, this one is a must! The big difference between Save the cat and other books is that the language is very day to day kinds which is why this may be the 4th book on writing that I may have bought but the first one I'm reading!

Undoubtedly Good book. However the author describes about to keep Good title to story/movie to grab attention..But the title of this book stopped me to buy this book for years 😀😃🙂

A must read for screenwriters , it simplify the most complicated things messing in your head and gives you a pretty good idea to push start your work.

Honestly, this is my first read on screenwriting. Mr. Snyder is a very honest guy who seems to have unselfishly disclosed all his writing secrets out in the open. I like the story structure he talks about and his longline concept which can save a lot of time for our real. A must read. I am motivated and ready to roll my own script now

Yeah the printing quality is not that good but the paper quality is, it's better than the paper print, the highlighter works fine on this and doesn't make a mark behind the paper, by seeing the price of this book I thought I would print this with the pdf for this book but the cost for both is similar and this is much better than the paper print.

Well written, of course. Provides a great road map to developing, adapting, and finishing a script. My interest was not to write a script of screenplay, for a tv show or movie. I was interested in insights that would help me develop scripts for my comedy magic shows. I was not disappointed. Many help tips!

For its size, this is a superb book on screenwriting and general creative writing. There is so much information in this little book, from your first words right down to the presentation of your work to studios and editors.There is so much good to say on this little book that I do not know where to start. Maybe with the writing style? The writing flows like water. You will read this little book very quickly. If you do not mind writing in your books or putting stickers or bookmarks on your books, make sure you have what you need as you read because you go through it quite fast.As for the help to screenwriters and other creative writers, the book hits the bullseye. It covers pretty much everything you need to know and the author does not lose himself in undending examples like in some other books (even though the examples are relevant in those other books, they make the reading tedious and long). In Save the Cat, you do not have that problem. The examples are few but supports strongly the chapter's subject or what is currently explained.Also, if you want to encourage your young teenagers initiative in creativewriting, buy them this book. As I said, it is readable in a very short time and brings alot of information. No stretching or long boring parts in it.Big thumbs up for this tiny book. :)

Save the cat is an amazing book if you're looking for some amazing "Add on" to your existent repertoire of tools and screenwriting insight, specially if you are looking to sell your script... or just write something that not only you and your friends want to watch.I loved this book... but if you're looking for a guide that tells you step by step how to write... you'd better look somewhere else. Come back for this one later tho!
