Well, how tall is your boat? Ours is a 17ft Fisher, deep V, and we bought the 4 step, it works great. If you do end up buying the wrong one, you can always exchange it, like we did. Also there are YouTube videos, they explain how to measure your boat to determine which step you would need.

I put the 3 step model on my small boat, on the left side, and I am going to put the 4 step model on the left side of my larger boat. The manufacturer's website shows both models. Good luck.
