I originally received one of these frisbees (or flying disc?) as a gift back in 2013. I used it in parks, at the beach, over parking lots, everywhere. I changed the battery 2 years into it and now finally the button started to turn off on its own. With a 4 year life span, I was impressed with its durability given the brutal treatment it has received. With that in mind, I decided to replace it with the exact same model, and I couldn't happier with my decision.The blue led is bright and perfect for night time fun with friends. The plastic is durable with some flex which helps it survive hard crashes onto pavement. My original disc did warp a tad after years of use, but it did not affect its flying ability, Of course, if your intention is daytime ultimate frisbee matches, you would be better off with a Discraft Ultra Star. The Discraft is made with a harder plastic and flies farther for more competitive action. I keep both in my car, but I have a lot more fun throwing the Nite Ize.

This was a cheap sticking stuffer idea but let me tell you, these frisbees are super-cool! It went on a couple of beach trips with us this year and EVERYONE was line, "OMG, where did you get that?" Sometimes one of my kids would wander out on the beach alone at night (with us watching them, of course) and within 30 seconds, there would be a half dozen other kids memorized and wanting to play. In fact, a few parents offered us $20 on the spot for it, but we said, "Nope, buy one on Amazon or pay $45 at the local Wal Mart." This was simply an awesome purchase.For those looking for more of a performance review, this beauty is regular frisbee size and the tiny LED's don't really add any extra weight. It flies nicely and looks amazing when in motion at night, although it serves as a good regular frisbee in the daytime too (the lights are barely noticeable in daylight). For the price, it's hard to go wrong here.

I'm a bit picky about frisbees and there are quite a few "light up" frisbees to choose from. Choose wisely because not all are the same. They differ by weight, light up design and actual frisbee size (size and weight are generally standard combinations in frisbees, but with the light up designs they are not the same because the frisbees carry additional weight from the battery/light installed on the frisbee), so picking a good one can be next to impossible to do online since you can't see and hold it.This particular model is the best I have found. It is an appropriate weight, 185 grams and with a proper competitive molding/lip. (some of the models out there have a slim lip similar to frisbee golf discs - and the weight is such that it can only be thrown short distances or it will curve in flight b/c of its light weight nature). This model would work for those into "Ultimate Frisbee". It flies well, can handle long tosses well, has a great feel to it and is durable. Easy to see.Semi-ConThe light up function is a click button and it turns on. It seems pretty sturdy and is not going to turn off from hitting the ground or grabbing it in an awkward catch. It is a bit bulky of a button though - I personally like the slimmer switch designs of other models, but i haven't had any issues with this one, so it's more personal preference.Fun for Ultimate Frisbee as well as just hanging out at a park or beach in the evening.(some of the reviewers were disappointed theirs broke when they threw it in a pool. The item is electronic, you don't throw electronics in pools and lakes unless they are specifically made water proof )

This is by far the best frisbee I have ever owned. It flys SO good! It is 185Grams but totally feels lighter and doesn't hurt to catch. It is the coolest thing ever to play at night with. It lights up really bright and last a long time. I probably have about 24+ hours of use and battery is still good.The only bad thing is that sometimes the light turns off after a hard impact. You just need to turn it back on, but sometimes it won't. You just need to take out the batteries and swap them around (don't replace) and you should be set. Would've given 5 stars if I didn't have this problem.I took this baby to the beach and it was accidentally thrown into the water several times and was completely submerged for at least 30 seconds at a time (was hard to find in the white wash so be careful). After I pulled it out of the water, the light still worked! Completely waterproof.The light is fully effective when it gets completely dark out, the light isn't noticeable during the day (as most of you would already assume).So overall, GREAT frisbee. Would definitely encourage all of you to buy this light up frisbee over the others. I am hoping to buy the green color next. PEACE and have fun with it!
