Will this work for a 60 pond pit

I have a 140# Rottweiler and it's perfect. I would expect that it world be great for your Pit.

Yes. Imagine it as a super hard plastic ball. Its is not soft at all, or have any rubber like texture however. So it is loud when it does bounce (indoors).

can it go in the pool?

All day long!!!!! But your dog might never get out of the pool till he or she gets the ball!!!! Good stuff for a video!!!!!

How much does the large ball weigh?

I never actually weighed it but my brothers dog (a bull mastiff who weighs 150 lbs and is only a yr, old loves to push it around and play with it) can't get his jaws around it and puncture it. He loves to push it around and play. He can burn off all his excess steam. And that picture is about right, size wise.
