It is embossed on the bottom of the bottle, number 2 HDPE. it can be recycled (U.K.) with your usual household plastics recycling.

Q: Does this have a lid so you can take it out with you without making things in your bag wet?

No it would never be watertight with or without a lid. There's a valve hole on the base. While in use after filling, you need to press on the valve otherwise the water would leak out of the bottle. Do this until you're ready to let the water out via the rigid tube. You could get over this by taking a separate container of water and filling the Peri bottle from that when you're ready to use. That way you can choose how much liquid you personally would need to have available. Hope that helps.

Q: How do you dry yourself afterwards? With a soft towel?

It’s entirely up to you. Personally I used folded toilet tissue to pat dry. It worked well for me.
