Are these better than regular Systane preservative free drops? The Active ingredients are identical-- only the inactive ingredients differ.

My eye specialist feels they are better. He also wants me to use the viles and not the bottles - less chance of contamination.

They would make your contacts very blurry but would probably blink out after a while. This is a super good product for dry eye, and I would recommend you take the contacts out, put the drops in your eyes, wait a few minutes for the gloop to disperse and put contacts back in.

what is the origin of product? Made in France or USA

I don't know how helpful my answer will be, I got my drops from drugstore.com but the box says Distributed by Alcon of Fort Worth, TX and the drops were made in France.

How to interpret the expiration date; e.g., "2015-05"?

l would assume the expiration date is May 2015. Many European companies put the year first and then the month. ALCON has several offices in the U.S. but also overseas
