I was doing a leather craft project with my Cub Scout pack and I could find tons of stamp sets at a local craft store but could not find enough of mallets for them to use(little kids, little patience). Hopped on Amazon and found these. I took a chance that they would arrive on time and sure enough they did. The kids had no issue using these whatsoever and the faces of the mallets came out relatively unscathed. The shorter handles helped the kids with accuracy and even though they have to hit each stamp about 2 times, it helped to slow them down and think about what they were making. If I had to purchase more mallets I definitely would get these again. Even the adults liked using them.

I've been meaning to make a couple of smaller mallets for chisel work, especially carving chisels, but at this price I grabbed a couple of these instead. They are well made from good materials, and work very well for my purpose.

Works fine

I was very disappointed when I received the mallet. Both striking faces we extremely rough and no effort had been made to sand them down. They were so rough they would destroy the grain and figure of any wood upon which they were used. I’m a woodworker, a little bit of sanding and a saturating coat of lemon oil followed by more sanding and the tool is now acceptable. I didn’t expect high quality for the price paid. I just feel like a slight effort to sand the faces should be expected.

Perfect weight for a small mallet, fits the hand very well.
