Really nice and heavyweight shelves with strong brackets for mounting. The only negative is that I had, was that I cleaned the top of one with a damp cloth and water and it looks like some of the stain came off on the cloth. (this was my original review**)**I've since changed the rating to 5 stars and would give 10+ if I could :). The company contacted me immediately after my original 4 star review to address my concern with the stain coming off. I sent one of the owners, Kyle, my pictures and he was very receptive and kind and agreed that my original order was not sealed properly. He went above and beyond and prepared and sent a new set of shelves. They just arrived and are simply beautiful and I've attached a pic with the shelves laid next to each other for comparison. I can tell by the way the new ones are finished and sealed that they can now be easily wiped with a soft cloth & water and will look spectacular in my kitchen for many years! I can't wait to put them up!! I'm thrilled with the shelves and the company and their customer service is unlike any other - simply WOW!

These shelves were incredibly easy to install. I had them up in less than 15 minutes (by myself no less). The sticky tape on the back allows you to easily drill the hidden anchors in evenly. They are beautiful also. The weathered look is so authentic, and doesn't appear to be mass produced. You can tell each piece is unique. Mine even had a cool knot in the middle of the plank. I have been so intimated to try putting up these shelves myself, and I'm glad I finally did it. I will definitely be buying more of these!!

We purchased 2 sets of the 36" long Dakoda floating shelves and WOW they are GREAT!! First of all I loved all the length and color options available to fit my needs, space and decor. I also loved how easy they were to install. The shelves are solid wood and are made with extreme care and love! The workmanship is magnificent and I would know coming from and wood-working family. My father used to do these types of things for me but no longer can so I am very happy to find a company I can trust to order shelves from and maybe other products if available. GLAD THEY ARE MADE IN THE USA, right in Michigan where I work and live!! Attached is a picture of the shelves in the Game Room holding my boyfriends collectibles. We both love the shelves!

the edge of one of the board has some scratch when it is arrived but i think it is not the seller's fault but the shipping company's... anyway, it took me about 1 hr in total to mount both of them to the location that i want. one of the board poles were not able to stick on the wall for long enough for me to mark the position down. i was hoping that the pole location can be adjusted to match the stud in the dry wall, man this thing is very heavy, you need to find some stud on each side so I have to mark some shift on my mounted location to make at least one of the screw on both side find the stud. after all, i think this is still great product real solid hardwood piece, very satisfied!

The shelves are beautiful; however, I basically destroyed a portion of my new home's drywall installing the first shelf. The "glue tape" did not hold so (drywall is textured which didn't help) I was stuck with manually estimating distances to apply the brackets and ended up installing a bracket under the shelf to hold it up and keep it level. If you can mount at least one screw into studs from each bracket it might work. Shelf is way too heavy to pull off the "easy installation" and good luck keeping it level as it will lean forward. One bracket was not plumb so I had to wrestle it on and off trying to get the bracket in place. I placed the second shelf in the garage and was able to get one bracket into a stud, and I store some car wax and rags on it. A smaller/lighter shelf might work with this technology. I would not buy again.

I searched several months for the right shelves. These arrived nicely packaged by the manufacturer. I looked them up on line and they have a great business and good cause. Love my shelves. I ordered 2 of the 24" and 2 of the 36" in midnight. It may appear black but it has browns throughout as well. Rustic and beautifully finished.

i bought these shelves for my house plants (i needed extra space in my sun room) and they were perfect! i was able to hang them myself using the tools provided in the box, a level, and an electric screw driver. the shelves were better quality than the shelves i saw at west elm and less expensive. i would highly recommend.
