Built Strong and sturdy price is great!
I recently moved to a "fat tire" "E-bike" for fun and for camping. Because of the weight and the large tube frame that houses the battery I was not able to use the standard hanging bike rake for the E-bike and instead was forced into transporting it inside of my RV causing it own sets of issues including just getting it inside without tearing or marking something up. I decided that I needed. to get a "Tray style" bike holder. So I started by looking at what I seen on other vehicles to give me ideas. I notice that the ones I'd seen that were big enough and rated for e-bike fat tire models were pretty costly and it would be almost cheaper to go with a small capacity motorcycle carrier. Then I came across the Overdrive Sport Carrier on Amazon and read the reviews etc. and I knew this one would work for all off my bike transporting needs. I usually only need to transport my wife's and my bike but sometimes we have our upper teenage boys with us and need to bring theirs as well. So here's what I think is another great part about this bike carrier... The outer 2 bike holders are a add on to the 2 bike carrier and only require 2 bolts to be install to make it the 4 place carrier so, I add it on when we need a 4 place carrier and leave it off when we don't. Its raised up enough to keep everything up high, Fully adjustable wheel trays fit any bike and even though its set up to handle fat tires the smaller bike tires fit nicely because of how the wheel holder narrows down on the ends. The bar hold downs work pretty good for me and the locks are better that nothing however, they're not perfect. If you have a tall bike and the other one is short or a step through it is possible to loosen the non-locking clamp and raise it up enough to get the bike out. I'd pay more to see all the clamps have there own lock. If your going just from point A to point B with out leaving the bikes out you really don't really need to use the locks but I'd recommend a good lock and cable for keeping your bike secure anyway. May be the manufacturer could offer locks on all clamps and charge more as a option? The anti rattle pin works well and uses the same lock key as the bar locks. This Rack works nicely behind the motor Home or when needed in the hitch in our vehicle we pull behind it (fitting past the rear mounted spare tire). Folds up nicely when not in use. Price is really y good for this sturdy bike carrier.

Very Solid
We assembled this bike rack in about 2 hours. You will probably do it faster. You will definitely want more than the cheap wrench tools they include in the package. A standard crescent wrench and screw driver at a minimum. The basic configuration is for 2 bikes or 4 bikes. We ordered the extended 4 bike version. Each bike gets two loops - one for the front tire and one for the back. You slide 2 on the inside and 2 on the outside of slide bar. A post goes up between the two bikes and there are two sliding padded loops that go up and down to loop over the horizontal bike tubes. Take a look at my pics. If you only have 3 bikes (as we do) then you only need to install 6 tire loops so that's why ours looks like it's custom made as a 3 bike carrier but it's really the 4 bike version. We can also remove the two bike extension and go down to a two bike carrier. The whole contraption folds up on the back of our car and extends down and away from the car. I see people asking if you can open a trunk with it installed and loaded with bikes and so on. Yes I'm sure you could. But the rack is heavy even when it's empty. Loaded with bikes you would need to be some kind of superman. Realistically, when it's loaded with 3 or 4 bikes you aren't going to get access to the back of your car. Some nice features I really like: A key lock for the pin connecting the rack to the car. I can see somebody driving past and just unclipping a rack and tossing bikes and all into the back of a pickup so who knows... this lock might stop a quick snatch and grab. It won't hold up to a hammer and pry bar. The sliding loops also have a key lock to secure the bikes onto the stand. That will prevent people from easily walking away with your bike but again it's not going to stand up to a determined criminal. I found the padded loop able to slide down far enough to work with a woman's style step-through bike. The rack works fine with our slightly fatter eBike tires. Our eBikes bikes each weigh 45lbs but even so 4 of them still feel solid and well supported on the rack. There aren't many negatives other than the obvious problems associated with hauling around more than 200lbs of bikes and metal sticking way out from the back of your car. I would say the worst feature is that it's going to be very difficult to remove this rack from the car. The bolt is solidly screwed into the receiver. Removing that bolt is going to be tough because it's the no-slip silicon type. I can see they want to stop rattles and secure the stand to the car. It's just a shame that it's going to be so hard to put it on and take it off. I can already see wear and a bit of rounding on the nut from just tightening it up once. How is it going to look after I've put it on and off 20 times? One "gotcha" that's specific to my car - I have a feature on my Hyundai Sante Fe. If I loiter around the rear of the car the hatch will beep then open. With my bikes loaded, the hatch would bang into them. That's a feature I can disable and I'll have to remember to do that. There may be better racks out there once you hit the $500+ range but in the sub $300 range for a heavy duty rack that's able to hold heavier bikes, this is the winner.

Sturdy but heavy
I bought this rack when it still had the option to remove the two outside carriers to make it a two bike carrier if desired. So far I’ve carried two heavy ebikes with no problem once I figured out the way to secure the frame hooks. I removed the little screw at the top of the hook upright arm so I could remove the hooks completely because my bikes were too big for the arm to swing up after mounting the bikes. I just make sure I tighten the hooks after reinstalling, and may drill a hole through the arm so I can put a removeable pin through there in case the hook(s) loosen. When the drawbar mount is installed in your 2” receiver and the included bolt is tightened in the pin hole, this carrier has no wobble whatsoever and seems almost like it’s part of your vehicle! I mount each bike by lifting the front wheel into a tire tray, then the back wheel. If two bikes, I just move the first bike into the inside frame the same way, swing the upright arm up, install the longer of the two hooks on that bike, then mount the second bike and hook. Once you have the trays adjusted, I suggest you always mount the bikes the same direction so you don’t have to refigure out what hook works on what bike the best! Once mounted and secured with hooks and straps, my two ebikes were rock solid on this rack even at 75mph. I haven’t carried four bikes yet, but believe they would be fine if I keep the speed down to 65 or less and not stress it by driving irratically. This carrier is heavy at around 80 pounds(or 40 pounds if used for two bikes and the outer 40 pound trays are removed). It also sticks out behind the vehicle a bit so needs a bit larger parking space. Be cautious when tipping the carrier up or down with the quick release lever as it is heavy whether you have bikes on it or not and will move quickly! So far this is a quality rack for hundreds less than some other four bike carriers. I’d give it 5 stars if it weighed about 20 pounds less and folded up a bit more compactly for storage.

Heavy and heavy duty
Bought this rack in 2021 and glad I did. It has performed up to par. We carry 3 Townie bikes on it, and it handles them great. Went to 2 E-bikes last year (still Townie), and still carries the added weight just fine. - This rack is heavy (~90 lbs or more). Pictures are of a 'rack' I made this year, and strapped to a heavy duty cart. Makes it so much easier to mount and dismount to the vehicle. - A little tough to load and unload an E-bike to the inside carrier, when using 3 or 4 bike slots. It's a long reach. A lighter bike is not as much an issue. I made a wood ramp that helps, but it is very bulky. - On our Jeep Wrangler, cannot open the back hatch with rack either up or down. Interferes with spare tire, and hatch door. - Love that it folds up when not in use. Unless I need to hitch up the boat, I leave it on between trips in the summer. - Sometimes, we carry 3 bikes on back of the Jeep being towed by a motorhome. Cannot see either set of brake lights with the bikes on. I added a set of magnetic LED trailer lights and zip tied them on the back rear bar. Plugs into 4-pin hitch light outlet.Works great. I was behind someone who had their lights blocked a couple weeks ago. Not safe.

Great Rack at a Great Price
I purchased the 4 bike rack about 9 months ago, I wanted to wait and use it quite a while before reviewing. This bike rack is great. I ride both road and mountain bikes, and this is easy to adjust so it fits each when needed. I have a smaller SUV and my bikes won’t fit in the car without taking the front wheel off, so this bike rack is a must for me. I typically use this with just the two bike portion and the extension for the additional two bikes stays in the garage. When it’s just the two bike rack my hatch will open without hitting it so I’m able to just leave it on the car instead of having to take it off after each use. I also use it to take my kids bikes fairly often so it does get used for four bikes, and while it is very long it’s still very secure and holds the bikes well. Adding the extension for the additional bikes is really easy and just requires two bolts. I recently lost the key for the rack and the seller sent me a new key free of charge. I haven’t had any other need to reach directly out to the company, but based on that interaction the customer service was great. I would definitely recommend this rack if you’re looking for a quality rack at a reasonable price. While the higher end racks may have more options, this one does a great job of securely storing the bikes and is easy to use. For the record, I wasn’t paid or offered free things for this review. I just wanted to leave my thoughts on this rack so hopefully it helps when someone else is looking to purchase.

Updated review
It is a little cumbersome to take on and off, but as to be expected because it weighs a lot. fairly easy to build. I did it on my garage floor, but the manufacturer recommends building it while attached to the hitch. That would make certain steps easier, like attaching the second half of the 4 bike rack. Seems sturdy and I like that it locks to the hitch and you can lock the bikes to the rack. Update........................... After using this for a bit I have realized it is not worth buying. The rack is extremely loose, which causes your bikes to bounce and move around, causing them to get gouged by the bar that is supposed to secure them. Then the bolts started to break that were holding the unit together. I was in the middle of my trip and had to run to Home Depot to buy heavy duty bolts to keep it together for the rest of the trip. The bars are all bent and the bikes rub and bounce around. very poorly constructed. Be very careful. This might work if you are only driving a couple of miles on smooth road, but I attached it to my RV and it bounced around like crazy because the pivoting joint is very loose. I would not buy this ever.

Very well built and quality parts.
Reading all the mixed reviews, I was worried as so varied in the responses - I bought the KAC Bike Rack - Heavy Duty Bicycle Carrier. IM VERY HAPPY with how it is bult and all the features it has. Currently using it for 2 Bikes and they are very secure when supporting my mountain Bikes. Still have option for four to use later and feel it very solid to support the extensions. I went to this as my old straight bar rack wouldn't fit the style of mountain bike. This is so much easier to load, and the Bikes do not bump each other while driving. I would recommend adding a cloth around the cross-bar support - one bike I did see some scratching, but that bike doesn't have a thick lacquer finish, so cheaper paint more sensitive. Also, If you put the bike on correctly and use the included safety straps, I don't see how it a bike would fall off, it is very solid and bike don't move. I've also checked all bolts after multiple trips nothing has loosened up. Rack fit is solid on my hitch with screw in hitch mount, which also locks. Overall weight is NOT a problem, heavy because it solid. So far for 2 bike I love this thing - will use 4 bike option later and if issue will report. Right now, the addition rack section stores neatly in the original packaging it came in.

A very good bike rack
We bought this type of bike rack as we just got 2 new ebikes. Each bike weighed over 50lbs, so this rack came up high on the reviews plus the price is reasonable. The rack was shipped in a sizable box and was heavy. Assembling it is easy with easy to follow instructions and all the parts being accounted for. The rack itself is heavy - this is to be expected. When we first tried it out on our vehicle, it was very unwieldy to load the bike on the back side of the rack. But after a couple of tries, we were able to load it with no issues. We had an out of state trip coming up, so the day of the trip, connected the rack, loaded the 2 ebikes and secured them and off we went. Once on the road, there was not a noise from the rack. Unloading it was just as easy. Being the ebikes are heavy, it is much easier to load the bikes with 2 people, especially the one in the back. Overall happy with the rack and will eventually have to use the extension so we can carry 4 bikes.
