This vinyl showcases Down’s influential blend of sludge metal, southern rock, and heavy riffs, featuring powerful guitar work, dynamic rhythms, and expressive vocals. The tracks explore themes of personal struggle, resilience, and social observation, balancing aggressive intensity with melodic accessibility. Each composition emphasizes intricate interplay between instruments, layered arrangements, and emotional depth, creating a cohesive and immersive listening experience. The album captures the raw energy and technical skill of the band, offering listeners a journey through heavy, atmospheric soundscapes while reflecting both musical craftsmanship and the group’s distinctive artistic vision throughout the record. Review: Superb - Fantastic album. Deep grooves and heavy riffs Review: My favorite Down album of all time! - This is my favorite Down album of all time, and I hate to say it but the other albums are a little weak in comparison. I have all of the released Down albums and this one byfar is best. If you like screaming and singing combined, this is the album for you. I wish they would return to this sound but that does not seem possible. This album is smooth going down but also packs a punch, and I loved it. The lyrics I read online are more personal, and are dark *depression, suicide, drugs*. However, I enjoy it for its Southern-esque music feel, and the singer sounds great. This is the 1 Down album to pick up, if you have to pick 1 up. Don't hesitate just listen!

A super group that does it right
I’ve been blasting this album for almost 30 years and it never gets old. It’s truly one of the few albums that I consider to be perfect

Reviews, I Don’t Know What They Say But...
If you’re reading this then you already know a review for this album is stupid. Is this album good? Is a next day crawfish boil deuce corny? The fact that you can get this on vinyl is like being paid to test taste Blanton’s at the Bourbon House in the French Quarter. If you honestly are hear for a review of this album this is not the best medium for you to purview, because honestly if you haven’t figured it out over the last 25 years that this is the one of the best albums ever you should probably just stick to your FFDP cover of Bad Company... Paul Rogers deserves an apology, by the way.

Debut CD — not quite perfection, but close!
The debut album from Down, with 13 tracks at just about 57 total minutes long. This CD is great, however, I can’t give it a 5-star because it isn’t perfect...it’s missing something, idk exactly what it is, but something. The artwork is also really cool...it definitely fits the band and their image. I definitely recommend this CD to anybody interested in heavy metal and hard rock music...it actually is a classic CD, just not a perfect classic. I’ll end with this...Down gets much better in their later years, 2011-2015 years.

Hell of an album
Down is the band I've probably seen the most. First time was right after Rex joined & was the first pic I ever caught. Peppers I caught 3 years ago. The vinyl sounds amazing.
