Tough and high amperage.
Good Tough connector. I soldered the 2 gauge wires into the provided connectors and screwed the receiver on to the back of my boat to provide a quick connect for trolling motors and the electric starter on my 15 hp outboard. I had not tightened the little minkota down enough and this connector stayed tight and connected while the motor did circles after slipping off the outboard mount and allowed me to recover it. Heavy duty and a great deal. I have bought 2 now.

its great!!!
works great and was just what I was looking for. I installed it in my car as a quick disconnect for my power inverter. that way when i wasnt using the inverter I could just unplug and take it out. i put a bigger power inverter in my car. 800w. so i have to wire it straight to the battery. i like these even better because when i disconnect it i can then use the cap and cover the end that is still in the car. that way no little curious fingers, forks, or over objects find there way in the end from my little 3 year old. it was a fairly easy install and even easier to use. i soldiered my wires in as i did not have a crimper tool.

It's a nice sturdy high quality connector that works great
I used this connector with 4 AWG wire to connect a winch on my car trailer to run off of my truck's battery. You may need a special crimping tool to crimp the lugs it comes with but my brother is an electrician so I'm lucky that I could just borrow one. It's a nice sturdy high quality connector that works great. If I get a new truck I won't hesitate to buy it again.

Not really appropriate for size 4 AWG
The good news is that this is a very nice plug pair with massive contact surfaces and really nice weather boots. The bad news is that if you are trying to use this with 4 gauge wire, like I was, there is a lot of gap. I don't think that crimping or soldering will work well unless you fit a spacer to take up the extra room. So this is really not a 4 AWG connector.

Well worth the price and effort to fit them.
I used these to connect my Warn winch to my truck. I mounted a portable winch in the bed of my truck and wanted heavy cables that could be disconnected easily and allow me to remove the winch when not needed These plugs are what you need. They are well built and easy to connect to your cables...sort of. I used 2 ga copper strand jumper cables which were just a little large for the metal part that slides into the plastic connector. After a few strands were removed, the cables were soldered and everything went together easily. These plugs are very convenient with high amp rating. Check the amp rating on the plugs to be sure they can handle the load and match the wires.

I wanted something that can be easily disconnected without the need of tools in order quickly ...
I used this on my car's subwoofer box. I wanted something that can be easily disconnected without the need of tools in order quickly move the box out of my trunk if I need the space. This plug works great and it leaves my car looking neat. I can remove the box and tuck the wires away and no one can even tell I can install my speakers in 2 minutes but plugging in a few cables.

Quality Product.
I purchased three sets of these for several projects. I used one set to replace a worn out set installed on my truck for my 8000 pound Warn winch. They are a direct replacement for the original Warn plugs that came with the winch. I used a second set to install a outlet at the rear of my truck using welding cable. The third set was installed on my utility trailer for a 2000 pound winch and to modify a set of jumper cables. The lugs were easy to install utilizing solder plugs and are shipped with nice rubber covers. They appear to equal to and are rated for the same amp draw as the Warn connectors.

One-third the Warn Price
Needing new quick connect plugs for my battery cables and winch to replaced the factory Warn ones, I found these and figured for one-third the price of the Warn's, I'd give them a shot. I am very happy with these so far. I have used them about 5 times as of this review, and they are just as good as the Warn plugs. It's nice that they have protective covers, but time will tell how long they stay on on the winch side. Just make sure that you crimp the ends onto the wires with an actual crimping tool. Hammer and punch does not work on these - they are STRONG!
