5ive Star GearGI Spec 3-Day Military Backpack

Solid, well made pack for various usage. I am using it for camping/hiking. The stitching is amazing and heavy duty material make it suitable for the amount of items i bring with me. I am satisfied with my purchase.The only exception that prevented me from giving a 5 star rating was the color. It's advertised as Cayote and looks brown in the picture. I was looking forward to this as i am not a fan of the tan tactile color usually found in backpacks like these. It is not exactly tan but it also isn't exactly brown as seen in the pic, its more of a darker olive. Important to note for those of you looking to use this in tactical settings. This bummed me out but i was able to overlook that flaw and value its prospect. Solid backpack.

I saw the reviews on this bag so my expectations were already high, however I only got to the airport when the stitching on the shoulder straps came loose. I did not get an opportunity to test its ruggedness. I'm hoping I just got that one bag that escaped a quality check, but in the meantime, I have to rank it for what it deserves. Another, flaw is the zippers, they're not as rugged as I expected them to be. Aside from the stitching the bag is perfect, the material is 1000D, I liked the location of MOLLE webbing. If I had do it over again, I would buy another backpack. The SOC 3 day bugout bag is the same price w/ better quality.

I got this right before I left for my summer abroad program. After a month of use, it has held up to everything. I use it ever day for class, day trips to the beach, on hikes, and overnights. Fits comfortable my computer, DSLR and camera bag, notebook, textbooks, 1 liter of water, and whatever else I need that day. The simple three pocket design works perfectly, I always know that my bag is secure walking in crowds or stuffing into public transportation. The extra straps have been nice, just tie down what I need to for easy access. Wear and tear, none so far. The shoulder straps have no wear, unlike my last pack which started to show signs of stress after a month use.Update, few months later. Still holding up strong. Again, I use this everyday for class. Heavy loads with laptop, six or seven text books plus what every else I need for class. Or light days with just a notebook. Really appreciate how the straps on the side are able to adjusted pretty tight. Useful when I skate, less resistance for when I am tucking and bombing down hills. Molle is perfect, I am able to strap small radio pouch that fits my Canon Powershot S100 snugly, I always like to keep a camera on hand. I highly recommend this pack.

This does not appear to be high quality. There are strands of loose stitching everywhere especially inside the pack. Zippers are brandless, and I really doubt it is 1000D nylon. Feels very light and poorly made. Doubt if it was made in USA. Go for other brands like 5.11 or Tactical Tailor or Camelbak.It really feels like a Made in China product.

Turns out the pack I received actually carried the TruSpec label and the color was an attractive coyote brown -- not the reddish color on Amazon's page or the khaki shown in customers' photos. It's a good size for a 3-day pack without a lot of frills or inner pockets: pretty much just 3 compartments without inner dividers, except for the hydration bladder pocket in the main compartment. It seems well made, but I over-sewed the main strap attachment points at the top just to make sure they were reinforced before loading. It's a good general purpose pack for the money.

Thought I could save money with this bag versus the more expensive versions. Unfortunately two months of daily use on my bicycle commute proved too much for this. It felt light and flimsy when I got it, so I wasn’t expecting it to last. The stitching is coming loose on the zipper so now the zipper falls off, and the stitching in the shoulder strap is shredding itself. Avoid.

Great product. Tough construction. Handles heavy uneven loads like a dream.

This is USA MADE and GREAT QUALITY. Would definitely buy again as very durable and used daily with no issues. Zippers have held up well with no problems.Worth the Money!
