Q: Is this salt as gentle for nasal lavage as the plain salt you usually buy called nasal salt or neti salt?

Morton Canning and Pickling Salt has one ingredient: salt. No iodine, no added chemicals to affect flowing, sticking, etc. I have been using it for a couple of years in combination with baking soda for a nasal wash, instead of paying a hefty price for individually packaged portions to add to water. Pickling salt, until the supply chain troubled during these covid times, cost about $1.50 for the 4 pound box. All the large groceries and Walmart carried it regularly. Now you can't find it anywhere locally. You can find other brands for about $4.50 for 3 pounds. As you can see, the online prices are steeply increased.

Q: is this non iodized salt?

It is my understanding that this particular salt is non iodized. Morton has both iodized and non iodized and it is marked on the container if it is iodized.
