The only real problem with this product is in the description. It's not a dog bed; it's a waterproof cover to put around a dog bed, or a couple of old pillows if you prefer, or a bunch of raggedy towels. I have a rescue beagle that is nearing his 13th birthday. Beagle Bailey served his owner well, but he outlived the guy, and the rescue called me when the owner's family declined to inherit him, not realizing that Bailey's bladder was iffy at best. I am home now, retired, and with summer around the corner, it's not a burden to sit in my cozy chair with a cup of coffee and leave the door standing open so the hounds can lay on the porch, and make a swift exit if Mother Nature should call suddenly.The problem is what happens, once in awhile, at night.In our house, nobody sleeps in a crate. Everybody sleeps in a bedroom. Ox, our oversized beagle pup, spends part of his night in the bed with the mister and me, and part of it on the floor. Naturally, this is also what Bailey, the rescue hound has come to expect (and happily, he is too decrepit to jump up and join us on the bed!). But twice now he has awakened in a puddle of his own pee; we got him some medication that helps a great deal, but all it took was a stormy night with lots of thunder, and next morning, I had a terrible problem with the wall-to-wall carpet in the bedroom...again.The routine with the vinegar-water was getting old, but by this point Bailey had been in our family for months and had won the hearts of everyone. There are no more foster homes free in Seattle right now, and nobody's likely to adopt a 13 year old beagle. No, if this dog leaves, he will likely get the needle, and so I hit my search engine to see what I could do to potty-proof the bedroom.So here we are. I've only had this product a couple of days, so I can't speak yet to its longevity, but the zipper is of reasonably good quality, and the fabric is not slippery like I expected, but really does feel a bit like suede. The dogs love it. I have an old dog bed that's been chewed on and I wasn't looking forward to mending it again, so instead, I stuffed it inside this thing and now we're good to go. I ordered an additional waterproof cover, and I also put a big synthetic rug beneath this as well. I have ordered another product with a similar description to put on our second dog bed, since the dogs rotate sleeping areas, and we'll see how well they stand up. Both are priced about the same, so it's a good test.In order to really pass the test, Bailey will have to pee himself in his sleep again, and then we'll know how well the inner bedding is protected, and how well the bed protects the floor beneath it. And when it comes down to it, I don't want that kind of knowledge for a good long time!However, I tried pouring a quarter cup of water on the surface, and I will tell you, it made the fabric on the outer cover wet on top, but did not go all the way through to the other side, and it also didn't cause the water to run off the surface onto the floor, which means it will take longer to air dry, but for our purpose, this is better than a slick surface, because it protects the floor beneath better. It looked to me like I could pour on a lot more and get away with it. I did also put an old blanket on top so that whoever sleeps there will have the satisfaction of having something to scratch into the correct configuration.So time will tell, and when I know more, I'll be back. It's worth noting that although the construction looks decent to my eye, I have not actually thrown it in the washing machine yet, so that test also has to wait.My dogs are both about 40 pounds, and there's space left over; those with a dog much over 60 pounds may need more protection.

So, I ordered a DIY replacement cover, and it was very durable (Canvas) but cheap plastic zipper with now "zipper flap " to cover it up came out on day one. I use this for my old English Mastiff who thinks she must turn three times in both directions, then paw at the cover, then turn, then paw some more... then lay down, find zipper, chew zipper. I got this because of the zipper flap and stronger zipper (not cheap plastic) she had the zipper out on day two SIGH. Okay, no more covers, she will have hers zipperless... I have purchased like 4 now. Super easy to clean, wash, dry, put back over the bed. Doesn't come with a liner, even the ad says it does. Water resistant? Ummm.. no, is it supposed to be? Because, it's not. But given the plushy/soft type material... why would it be? It MAY be slightly resistant as far as preventing water from leaking through to the bedding completely... but the bedding WILL get wet. GEt a nice liner.. perhaps from one of those DIY ads (They have great liners.. and cheap zippers) Durability... the cover itself is pretty durable .. stands up to nightly clawing, turning, clawing turning.. and the slight knaw on the edges.. but not safe for zipper killers. All in all.. I like it. My dog loves the zippers:)

The Laifug bed is the only dog bed I will ever buy! I bought the Laufug bed about 5 years ago, after trying every other dog bed out there. I got so tired of smelly beds that couldn't be cleaned and had to be thrown away. From the moment we got it, the dogs loved the bed. It's like they have their own personal mattress to sleep on. It's also very durable. I liked it so much that I got one for my father's dog who chewed up every other bed he had ever had. He has not chewed this bed up, but I am not sure if that's because he is not able to or because he just likes it too much. In addition to being a very durable bed, it is so easy to clean. The mattress is encased in a protective cover, and there is a removable cover that comes in several colors. It is incredibly easy to remove the cover and wash it. I bought an extra cover so that we don't have to wait for one cover to be washed before putting it back on the bed.

I bought the Brindle 4" Solid memory foam dog bed ( 46" x 28" ) and my dog scratched through the cover in a matter of days. I order this cover as a replacement and he has not been able to get through it. it is a perfect fit for that bed. I guess Brindle doesn't make replacement covers for their own bed. if you didn't know any better you would not know it wasn't made by the same company for exactly this bed. Just bought another one for my 2nd bed.

Hello these are very nice, but not the correct dimensions...I measured and remeasured before ordering put when they can they seemed small....to small for my existing memory foam beds...so I cut the beds to fit the covers. Now my 87# lab hangs over.

We purchased a large dog bed about three years ago and quickly added a medium one for our dog's kennel. They receive constant use. We appreciate that the covers are waterproof and washable and have stood up to repeated washings -- and that the beds have remained comfortable and our dog's favorite places to be. Recently purchased a new cover for the large bed as the stitching around the zipper has come undone and it is just as heavy-duty as the original one. I highly recommend this bed.

Zipper needs to be more durable

I had the dog bed but my dog as a puppy had chewed the cover. I hated to throw out a perfectly good dog bed (not good for the earth), so was thrilled that I found this cover. I got it and although it took a little work to get on by myself, it fits, looks better than the original and is cleanable and has a liner. Love it!

The first bed and its cover didn't last long for my pup. It lost it's support, and the cover was difficult to clean. However, once I found a supportive yet affordable bed and the Laifug cover, I wouldn't try anything else. It fits snug and is the right combination of cozy yet breathable. It washes very easily, and my pup loves her nap time on it!

I needed a second cover because my dog has bladder issues. This purchase was wonderful. It allowed me to make sure my dog was able to use his bed while I washed the other cover. Having more than one cover has made my life easier.

Doesn't matter if it's easy to clean if it's broken. Zipper broke in a week. Bed done.

This is an amazingly durable product. My 10 yr old, 100 lb. lab sleeps most of the day and sheds horribly. He's had this bed for 3 years and the foam is holding up wonderfully. The cover is durable and cleans up like new with each wash. Love this product!

I needed some good quality cover to replace an old one that was all torn apart with a great foam mattress that I still wanted to keep. I was happy I found it so I can keep the good mattress more years. Highly recommend.

So far my dogs have not destroyed this cover. I've only had it a few days, so we'll see.
