A book for curious and broad minded people ❤👌
Let's be honest...I'm from computer science background and I loved this book. I was always interested in knowing about our natural evolution and formation of genes.I used to watch Richard Dawkins videos on Youtube during lockdown. He is an amazing teacher and anyone can understand such topics whatever background you are from. Those who are seeking for scientific knowledge about ourselves, I would highly recommend this book. This book covers it all in a very interesting way and it's also easy to read for a person who has no background in biology, evolution or any zoology related subjects. So go for it.😎Thanks!

Opens your eyes
For me, this book made me understand human behaviors in terms that make logical sense. Of course one needs to go deeper and not draw conclusions with a superficial understanding. This book is just the start into a rabbit hole on evolutionary biology and it's impact on human behavior.

Amazing Book : This will change the way you look at evolution
Originally written in 1976 by an evolutionary biologist. This book is an advocatory for Gene Centric view of Evolution. The writing style of this book is like that it is presenting a case study. Its tries to explain various aspects of life of animal kingdom though gene centric view , arguments and counter-arguments are very neatly explained . The raw ideas for most of the argument and counter-arguments is sourced from on last 25-30 years research work of that time by many eminent subject expert. This book may not be a easy reading for a reader of non-biology background. I think some prior idea of Darwin theory and basic knowledge of genes is must to properly grasp the idea presented in this book ...The chapter on Meme ( Gene equivalent of culture/ idea ) i don't found convincing ( my reason to give 04 star )The concepts of ESS ( Evolutionary Stable Strategy ) , relatedness I found excellent .The one chapter which discuss the application of GAME THEORY is really amazingIn last chapter The idea of Extended phenotype is developed ( from his own book of the same name ) . This will explain few more themes through the Gene Centric View ...This book has really enhance my understating of Living things around

Fascinating read!
It's fascinating yet quite troubling at times. However, when you begin to realize that truth/reality has no obligation, whatsoever, to be pleasant to us, you'll do just fine. I think chapter 11 conveys the most natural message the book can end with: Genes can very well describe our evolution till our hunter-gatherer ancestors in the African savannah; but once intelligence/consciousness evolved to the level whence we can make better tools, develop language, culture, agriculture, modern science & technology then, genes alone seems inadequate to explain our evolution.Whether one likes it or not the struggle between genes and intelligence has already begun. It remains to be seen whether the two continue to remain symbiotic or, part ways at some time in the future. Perhaps, only time can tell. Highly recommended!

A great scienece book about evolution
Its a great and genuine science book. Opens our mind to many myths surrounding evolution, selfishness, altruism and good of the species. Though a little long, it explains the concept even to a non science student. The language used is straight with a touch of humor. Recommended.

The Evolutionary Gene
This book is based on research and facts pertaining to gene evolution and much more.In a nutshell this book speaks volumes about various modes of evolution in different species and how genes are connected.Further, there are references on the composition of cells and how genes get impacted in due course of time.As a concluding remark I’d state that this book is about to understand the basics of evolution of species and how its genes exist as of today.
