Great design without compromises. Exceptional for the price!
The Spigen Ultra Hybrid case has been iterated numerous times across multiple devices. I've personally owned about 5 of such iterations and they have all been fantastic. I have both the black bumper and crystal clear versions of this case for my iPhone XS Max and they're excellent, significantly better than other more expensive cases I own.Design (5/5) -->Overall the case is very thin on the back of the iPhone and still fairly thin around the sides (bumper). The design of the case features small air pockets on the corner of the device that aim to cushion any impacts to the device (similar to a Nike Air Max shoe) and reduce chance of screen cracks/scratches etc. There's a nice lip around the edge of the screen which serves to protect the phone should it land or be placed on a rough surface face-down. The buttons feel responsive and the opening for the charging port and speakers at the bottom are precise but leave enough room for everything to function as expected. The case is also fully compatible with wireless charging which is nice as it's a handy feature of the new iPhone.Durability (4/5) -->The material used is reassuringly grippy and improves the handling of the iPhone by reducing the chance of you dropping it in the first place. However, if you were to drop the case you needn't worry as it's super durable and protective.Whilst maintaining a thin profile, the case does provide enough protection again everyday drops and scrapes.I personally find that a lot of 'protective' cases are so thick and heavy, or made with such materials that they trade usability for durability, which in my opinion renders them more or less pointless.I wouldn't say this case is 'bombproof', but it's not meant to be. If you treat your phone with any semblance of respect, this case will have you totally covered.Price (5/5) -->For £8.99 this case is an absolute bargain. You can tell the moment you get your hands on the packaging that it's a quality product. It does everything you could want a case to do and compromises very little. When you shell out so much money for a phone, it's good to know it's completely protected whilst still being able to use it as the designers intended.Recommended For -->It is light, durable, stylish and cheap. It retains the lovely design aesthetic of the iPhone and remains very protective. This case strikes a perfect balance of design/durability/price whilst retaining the lovely design aesthetic of the iPhone. I'd thoroughly recommend to anyone with the XS or XS Max.Note -->If you guys have any questions about the case before purchasing, just leave me a comment and I'd be happy to help!

Another excellent Spigen product
This is my third Spigen Ultra-Hybrid case, having had them in the past on previous generation iPhones. The XS Max clear case is an excellent case, both aesthetically allowing you to appreciate the phone design and, more importantly, offers protection at a level I find few others do without weight or holding inconvenience. The case is genuinely and completely transparent. The front of the case has a small lip around it to prevent ‘face down’ scratches or flat-fall damage to the screen. The side buttons are all flawless in their fit to the iPhone XS Max and the stereo speaker and lightening port holes at the bottom are perfectly cut, as is the rear camera slot. The rear also benefits from four raised edges that keep the case back from being completely flat in such a way that it’d scratch the transparent finish. The four corner edges are perhaps 0.5mm each and a very clever and thoughtful addition. The case is extremely lightweight and has a very tactile and good finish that allows you to hold your iPhone without risk of it slipping (which I suspect is the biggest concern for most XS and XS Max buyers). At this price, I don’t think there’s a great deal out there to offer better all-round protection and I’ve never been a fan of cases that hide the phone colour - otherwise what’s the point of choosing the colour you want in the first place? If you’ve bought an XS Max, this is a superb choice to protect it.

Not too bad
The case is good for the price I think, the black on the sides looked quite good. The back keeps getting smudged all the time with the touch of the hand so you can find yourself wiping all the time. The cover has a raised lip all around so the phone can be kept face down on a table top.The camera is also protected by a raised lip.The buttons are not too bad.The top and specially the bottom part could be annoying for some because in the max one needs to swipe up to close programs or switch between them and swipe down for the notifications and control centre. This means that the cover comes in the way all the time. The cutouts at the bottom almost but not completely matchup with the speakers on the phone, but the phone was still quite loud, did not think it cause the sound to drop.

Perfect fit and finish
I have been using Spigen cases ever since I got my first iPhone (the 6 Plus in 2014) and have always like the balance of protection and lack of bulkiness on the ultra hybrid series.I was concerned after reading some of the reviews about cutouts and general fit. Here is what I thin some users complained about. On the speaker cutouts, the Xs Max has asymmetrical speaker holes on the bottom: the right side has 7 while the left side has 4. Spigen chose to have symmetric cutouts (my preference frankly) as opposed to two different size speaker holes on each side. The finishing on my unit was the top quality I expect from Spigen with no visible flaws whatsoever. My two minor complaints are that: (1) I wish this came in a dark crystal colour, and (2) I am not sure why Spigen added the holes on the lower back corners as they do let some dust in from time to time (they did this with the case for the iPhone X last year too!)The price is also great given the quality
