Fn + F2, that's how you turn on the backlit part of it. It's not mentioned in any guide that comes with this and took me a good deal of research to figure out how to turn it on. So minus 1 star for that.I also deducted a star for shadiness of the product page and the company. They are selling at least 3 different keyboards, a projection screen, and a projection bag in the same product listing. This is misleading because since the reviews are all lumped together, a buyer could be duped into buying a bad product simply because they see the good reviews and assume it's for the product they are buying.

This keyboard works "Pretty Good", couple of quirks but works with my Samsung Smart TV through the Bluetooth Connection and is not that expensive.Here's where The FAVI comes up short: Wish it had more learning capabilities for the function keys, a backlit key function and a scroll wheel....then it would be a pretty killer piece!One issue I have is I find when I use the "@" key by pressing the @ and Shift Key at the same time, say to enter an e-mail address, it considers the Shift as one thing and the @ as something else indicating on my entry as two characters instead of just the "@" . It's ok though, I just correct it with the TV's remote using the "On Screen Keyboard".The keys are pretty dark, I advised the MFG through an e-mail that at the least they should incorporate backlight in the next roll out.Otherwise It's a fun piece and the more I use it and become better accustomed to it I find myself using The FAVI over my TV's provided remote.

This is the third try at a small wireless keyboard with mouse touchpad. I did not like the others, but I definitely love this one! Its easy to type, the mouse touch pad update is very quick in comparison to the other two I have used. It lasts and lasts, I haven't needed to charge it in over a week!Pros- Long lasting -Automatically Shuts off (Sleep Mode) when you arent using it so you don't have to turn it On and Off any time you want to use it. [To turn it back on you can just click a button. Touching the touchpad does not turn it back on] -Easy to type -Touchpad cursor update is very fast and not laggy. -LightweightCons- Havent found one yetUPDATE: 3/13/15The mouse sensitivity will drastically jump temporarily sometimes just after powering on or coming out of sleep mode. Simply raising your thumb off the touchpad for a moment and trying again will typically correct the problem.I have purchased this product 3 more times for friends and customers, it is the best HTPC/Steambox remote i have found.Battery lasts over 3 Months under daily use!I have tested the product on Debian Linux, Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Windows 7, all work great.UPDATE: 4/13/15I have removed a star because of a technical issue that I would like to see corrected in a new version of this device.The trackpad is controlled internally by the device and sent to the computer as a virtual mouse, so a synaptics driver does not control the functionality of the trackpad. The default functionality is all you get, move the mouse and tap to click. You cannot turn off the tap to click (I would like to do so), and if i could use a synaptics driver i could use the trackpad for scrolling.Please make an updated version of this device that sends raw trackpad control, and maybe another row (width) of buttons to make it closer to a regular keyboard and a slightly (+25%) larger trackpad for more accurate control.

The more updated & more detailed review was published after the refund process.I mainly used this product on an android TV stream device.Likes:- The keyboard part of this product is quite nice. The size of the keys are large enough and the touch was crisp while soft. There are enough keys & combo keys.- The small chamber that stores the receiver.Dislikes:- The touchpad, however, needs some improvement. Its tiny size greatly limits its application when user interface heavily depends on mouse/touch-screen. Several common mouse/touch-screen motions/gestures are quite difficult to perform on this, including swipe, drag & drop, scroll, and pinch. I also experienced false positive and non-responsive taps, which could be quite annoying.

Like many IT professionals - sometimes I need to log into a server or remote desktop. I have a Samsung Galaxy Edge 6+, which can host an awesome RDS session using the MS RDS App. This keyboard is the perfect companion by leaps and bounds. It's small enough to carry with the phone, but the keyboard is very usable. The touch pad, cursor keys and mouse buttons work very nicely and as expected.But more than that - it just seems like it was designed with remote desktop in mind. For example, the notorious ESC key works like it is supposed to!!! On the MS Universal Keyboard - and many other keyboards I tested - the ESC key attempts to cancel the session. You need to remap the keyboard using an external keyboard app to fix that.One small point - you will need a USB female adapter for your smartphone because this is a USB keyboard - not Bluetooth. Not really a drawback - the adapter is small and plugs into the mini-USB port on the phone.Bottom line - if you use Remote Desktop on a Samsung phone - this is definitely the keyboard for you.
