Here's the scoop:
Well I broke down and did it. After hemming and hawing over scoopers, I found the original Zeroll and read reviews. Most people had said it was a really nice scoop but the 'natural' aluminum finish quickly oxidized and turned their hands black. This didn't sound good to me, so I opted out. Then I discovered the hard-coat version, and my interest was reinvigorated. Still though, almost 30 bucks for an ice cream scoop? I'm a carpenter. As much as I love quality tools, I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on something as frivolous as a scoop for scooping something I probably shouldn't be eating anyway. However, after using the $5 scoop my wife had bought, and snapping the scoop off of the handle, while scooping mudslide in a cannabis induced midnight ice-cream craving, I had had enough of this foolishness. The scoop came a couple days later and I was immediately in love with it. It feels like a professional high quality tool in my hand, and looks the part. But was it going to perform at the caliber implied by the look and feel? Last night I took out a fresh half gallon of mudslide that had been deep in my freezer for days, waiting for my new scoop to arrive. Becoming harder than cold candle wax all the while. The combination of solid chocolate pieces and fudge swirled goodness would be the ultimate test. Oh my, how it works! The handle warms instantly in the hand. Cuts through the rock-hard ice cream like a hot knife through butter, forming perfectly round, marvelously glazed looking scoops. My teenage step-son shortly after, while scooping his own, exclaimed with astonishment: "it's so satisfying. I just want to keep scooping." If you want the best ice-cream scoop imaginable, look no farther, I believe you've found it. I'm sure I have a lifetime of effortless midnight scoopings to look forward to. Just keep it out of the dishwasher.

Perfect in every way
I didn't really believe that an ice cream scoop be as good as its claims, but needing a new one, I read a lot of reviews and decided on the Zeroll 3 ounce scooper. My daughter happened to invite a bunch of friends over the same day we received our ice scoop and what did she serve for dessert? ICE CREAM! I was excited to put my Zeroll to use knowing I was going to be serving lots of young people rapidly. As I started digging my hardened Ben and Jerry's brand ice cream, I could NOT believe the difference between the Zeroll and the other scoopes I have owned. The Zeroll worked like a charm, scooping ice cream with ease and speed. So happy was I with my new scoop, that I decided to buy a 2nd one...the 4 ounce. There is a definite difference in the scoop sizes and being a family who eats a LOT of ice cream in varying forms (on cones, in our vintage ice cream dishes, etc) I am glad to have 2 sizes. It is very important to note...do NOT put this in the dishwasher. When you are finished scooping, put a drop of soap (or not) in the scoop and rinse it with hot water. Dry and put back in the drawer.

Absolutely the best scoop for hard ice cream
This ice cream scoop is absolutely wonderful for rock hard ice cream. I make homemade ice cream that is quite densw, and while I have tried out quite a few high quality ice cream scoops, frankly none of them could do a halfway decent job until I found this one. I was always so frustratingly chipping away little pieces of ice cream (with previous ice cream Scoops), until there was enough to make a full scoop. With this ice cream scoop, there really is no problem getting my ice cream out of the tub. If you enjoy super premium ice creams that have less air in them and therefore can be harder to scoop, or just want a good quality ice cream scoop, I highly recommend this one! Just remember to hand wash it and not put it in the dishwasher, or the outer layer will start to wear down and leave metallic grey streaks in your ice cream, which is what happened to me. A replacement scoop was quickly purchased and I will be sure to hand wash it as they are very clear to instruct you to do all over the packaging.

Best ice cream scooper I have ever used!
This is a great ice cream scooper, and I don’t think I will buy anything different. It is of great quality and it is very easy to use. It also is heated but your hand, and even though it isn’t noticeable, after just holding it for a few seconds, it is able to cut through cold, hard ice cream with ease. It also scoops into nice compressed balls, which makes ice cream easier to eat as well as putting it in cones. Overall a great ice cream scooper and will recommend to anyone!
