What size are the openings?

3/4” Chambers - per Bat Conservation international specifications

Currently have many bats roosting behind my dark green/black shutters. Should I order black? Map says order dark brown...

From what I’ve read, areas that suggest using dark brown can also use black. I think it has to do with the colors ability to absorb light/heat for the bats to roost in.

Well made!

Shipping was fast and packaged very well. My bat box is very very well made high quality and worth every penny. And should last a very long time being it's made from cedar. Haven't got it up on a post yet but as soon as I do I will update with pics.

Well Constructed Bat House That We Are Very Happy With

We often sit outside and see bats flying around at night. We decided that we wanted to purchase a bat house after seeing them in the trees on a nearby trail. We love that we can help the bats and we hope that the bats will eat lots of bugs and mosquitoes for us in return.The bat house is well constructed and other than needing to climb high up a tree (our preference), it was easy to hang. It has a sloped roof so the rain runs off of it. It's a good size and I can imagine quite a few bats will be able to cozy up together inside of it. The dark wood blends into the bark of the tree and is not an eyesore in any way.We've only had it up for a few weeks and haven't checked for bats yet but we are hopeful that some will be there soon if they aren't already!We are ver happy with this purchase and this seller!

An environmentally friendly way to keep down the mosquito population...

Very nice, well made bat box which I have yet to install. Hopefully it works out well...I'm really hoping to increase the local bat population. Instructions are very good and I'm very pleased.

Good, but a mistake was made in manufacturing.

The box is well made, but, one of the screws was screwed in at the wrong angle and too deeply; causing the screw's point to be exposed inside the box, which could hurt the bats, and also making it really hard to extract the screw.I can fix it by adding some kind of padding to the side of the box.I think this is a good bat box for the money, just make sure to check the inside of the box before setting it up.
