this compressor pedal is absolutely superb. the controls are elegant, simple, effective and deliver a range of signal compression effects which is impressive. I bought the pedal to help ‘level’ the sound signal from the individual strings of an electric / classical guitar. Piezo pick up output is a bit of a lottery....it all depends on string tension and the sound delivery is reliant on string pressure balance at the point of contact with the saddle. I cannot afford, nor do I have the space for a sophisticated microphone set up in an auditorium of limited reverberation time.Classical guitar strings are not really designed to be ‘amplified’ by contact electronics, the 6 strings have a tension differential which is exacerbated by the unusual arrangement of ‘wound’ bass strings and clear nylon trebles.This 3 wound x 3 plain string structure has been in existence for many years...don’t change it...work around it...this is part of the distinctive character of the instrument.....which is my favourite instrument.I do have and I do play a nice ‘acoustic’ classical guitar....but it is almost impossible to record from the instrument....feed back...harmonic overtone problems etc.So why bother with a recording......well...it is only at the request of family members.....they say ‘ a nice thing to keep’.This magical little box does it. Simple and effective.....no fuss! Amazing balance of amplitude......Ry Cooder uses a compressor...that’s where I got the idea.

This gives a very nice clear tone, with a good range of controls for nice variations of compressions and tones. Very good value.
