These are a fantastic and simple product to use, Currently renovating a 1950's home and have opted to use these lights. please note that if you are not in a trade or familiar with trade sizing.purchasing a 6-inch light does not mean it will install in a 6-inch hole. I personally use an adjustable hole saw kit to ensure that I cut the correct size. I really recommend purchasing one.These lights are thin enough to be installed under a joist which is helpful when trying to center over certain areas. I paired this up with two 3-way dimmable switches, Absolutely amazing.I did run into an issue with a junction box not functioning. I contacted Torchstar and they sent me a replacement quickly.

Great lights! No flicker with lutein dimmer. Easy install (j-box is not too big to fit in the 4" hole). Don't forget to purchase some 3/8" hole knock outs to run the wire into the junction box! Yes, I said 3/8" knock outs even though the hole is about 7/8" in diameter. It is industry standard and not a flaw in this product!Pros: lumens, color (3k), dim min-max, no flickerCons: the baffle trim is a bright white with a blue-ish hue. This doesn't match my ceiling or other ceiling fixtures (like HVAC, smoke detector, etc)

I bought these to replace earlier Torchstar LED spots that I had installed a few years ago in my kitchen. The older models would come on, stay on for a while, then start going off. Several had to be replaced as the transformers had literally melted. With these, there is simply no heat, either in the transformer which comes built-in to a an electrical box or the light itself. I also installed an appropriate Lutrel dimmer. These new lights work great even after being on for hours and dim effectively as well. I will update this review if future experience diminishes in the manner that their predecessors did.

I purchased the 80w recessed LED lamps to replace fluorescent fixtures in my basement's drywall ceiling. These lamps are well designed, very compact (the light itself is no thicker than the drywall), and they do appear to be the equivalent of an 80w incandescent in brightness. A couple of my lamps were installed partially beneath a joist which is possible because the units are so thin. The J-boxes are compact which makes stringing romex house wiring through them a bit cramped; they require a bit of finesse, but they were able to accomodate the12ga wire that was used in my basement. The LED fixture itself is aluminum and serves to dissipate heat from the LED. If you touch the fixture you'll find they get fairly warm, but not too hot to touch. Overall I am very pleased with these lights. I got the warm version, and they make the room much more inviting than the old fluorescent lamps did.

The packaging this product comes in is very protective and well thought out. If you are familiar with electrical, these are a breeze to install w/ plenty of room in the wiring box for two pairs of 14 gauge wire with the light's wiring. I like that the light itself is detachable from the wiring box. Would I purchase this product again? The answer is, "Yes". I installed these before the drop ceiling and they give off a good amount of "white" light.

I was skeptical to buy this since I had bad experience with 6inch model that I bought. But this is good. for 6inch one I got flickering problem which I am not sure due to wiring or some other issue and so I gave shot and this is defitely good. Lot more cheaper than the similar item sold in stores. Installation is easy but handyman didn't gave any discount and doesn't matter for me anyway.

I installed 14 of these a week ago. They work great & are easy to install, but this model has less lumen output than needed for my use. I decided to replace them with a high lumen output 4” fixture, but it’s not good enough. I now realize a 6” fixture is necessary.

These are great. I bought these from torchstar and another no name brand here on amazon. Both light units are exactly the same and about the same price.... BUT! The no name had the push in wire nuts. The push in wire nuts are easier and faster then the screw on wire nuts that come with this. When your putting in a bunch of these that little detail really pays off. So these are great but I’d get another brand at the same cost with the push in wire nuts.
