Used for cutting plastic scale model parts from the frames that they were moulded on. Excellent results for this purpose. Precision point of cutters ideal for any limited access. Residual plastic was minimal and easily sanded smooth. Better than the nail clippers that I had been using, very good value and quality for the price.

In fact originally I didn't buy them at all, they came as part of a set of modelling tools and I used them for cutting the plastic model parts away from the sprue. This was a job that they performed perfectly adequately, but came the day when I was cutting automotive cables (28/0.30 cable, which is 28 strands of 30 thousandths of an inch wire) they broke quite convincingly. I promptly bought another set for plastic modelling duties, and it does clearly state MAX 040" DIA COPPER WIRE on the tool. Nice tool, pleasant to use, but if you're looking for something to cut wire or cable with I'd suggest something a touch beefier as 040" or 1mm copper wire is a little on the fine side. Great for Airfix models and the like though.

I actually use these as spruce cutters for model making. The blades are really sharp and will flush cut perfectly. This is my second pair, the first pair is semi-retired after many years of service, but after much abuse they are looking a bit gnarly and thought I would treat myself as they are so inexpensive.

I bought this for cutting minitures out of frames for war hammer and DND etc... and it has just exceeded my expectations. Super sharp and doesn't snap shut but more glides through to make perfect cut exactly where you want it. I do love the off center design makes for planning a cut way easier and precise, I rarely use my Stanley blade now to clean up my cuts, this reduces time and work by so much!

Don’t waste your money, mine broke immediately. Had to give 1 star because you can’t give zero.
