Where have you been all these years? Frequent traveler upgrades their game.
On a recent trip I finally 'had it' with bad hotel coffee, buying an overpriced (and overly roasted and burnt tasting) cup from the local Starbucks, or dealing with an unsatisfying and inconsistent cup of coffee from the whatever is in the hotel room.I've tried a few things - something called a Clever Dripper (too bulky), something else called a Primula Brew Buddy, yet another drip idea called Munieq Tetra Portable Coffee Drip, and then figured I would try to find a french press for travel (this is how I make coffee at home). This Presse unit fits my needs perfectly.• The container you press the coffee in serves as a handy mug• The plunger does not contain a rod running down the middle - opening up storage space• The silicone seal around the cylindrical plunger seals nicely• The bottom filter isn't plastic or nylon mesh, but rather a nice steel unit that screws in (thus replaceable)• This filter could be used as a measuring device (but I don't need to do this, I measure the coffee differently)• The silicone lid works well enough (but don't depend on it to be leakproof)I purchased a hand-held grinder (a relatively expensive one called a Porlex, less expensive ones with a similar design are available), as well as immersion heater. The Porlex (minus its handle) fits nicely inside the Presse, with the immersion device and a baggie of beans (with a measuring spoon and Porlex handle) I've got a self-contained and perfect brew that doesn't take up much space.I can see one downside to this design, there is residual coffee that sits underneath the metal filter unit that does not 'dispense' to the upper main area (where you drink from). I have to take the plunger out, and pour about 1/4 cup of coffee / grounds away. The silicone seal is really tight, likely causing a kind of vacuum that keeps the liquid in the bottom to the height of the filter unit.I didn't make the maximum amounts of coffee - for my trial runs this morning, only a few typical amounts (two tablespoons of beans or about 2.5 tablespoons of grounds and about 3/4 to the top of the Presse container. I'll continue playing around with how I deal with that 1/4 cup of grounds + coffee - likely it'll just go down the drain. The unit is easy to clean, very sturdy and you don't have to feel like it's fragile. I love the finish - it's as if it is anodized metal with a clear coating on it that is attractive and comfortable to hold.I am looking forward to my next trip where I can get fresh coffee no matter where I am, with the same whole beans I use at home, without a lot of fuss (nor wasted space nor the hassle paper filters). The photos are my entire travel-friendly setup - the Presse french press, the Porlex manual burr coffee grinder, a dual-voltage immersion heater (complete with custom red holder I made with some thick wire I had lying around to accommodate the Presse) and the sandwich baggie of beans that also holds the Porlex handle and spoon. All in all I spent something like $100 for this and am so happy about it I decided to write a review. (I haven't written a review in many years.)

Versatile tumbler that makes great french press coffee!
I travel alot. This tumbler works very well to make a decent cup of coffee, and is also useful for water, wine, and smoothies! I used to carry a coffee tumbler, water bottle, wine cup, and a silicone cup for smoothies. Now I just carry this and it does all! It fits in my car cup holder (although, barely), the side pocket of my airplane cabin bag, and cleans easily. Love that the press part has a perfect measuring cup in the bottom for coffee. I did not have any trouble with the silicone lid imparting an unpleasant taste, but did wash well first and take the advice of another review and put the lid in the oven for 20 minutes at 350. Also, as other reviews have noted, the lid is somewhat inadequate. A leakproof lid, and measurement lines inside the outer cup would turn this into the perfect cup! The color is off as other reviewers have noted. Its still a nice looking blue, but not the tealish blue pictured; more of a royal blue. That's a minor issue for me, but I was hoping for the beautiful teal in the picture. Despite these few things that could be improved, I'm still giving it 5 stars because it's such a great tumbler! Please make in more colors.

Great for minimalist who likes to hit the morning fast and hard.
This would be great for someone who can brew coffee and go, but not drink right away. If coffee is made in the press it is still too hot for 30mins. Read instructions. You must pour into another cup to drink right away.- strainer hole size is on the large size. Be prepared by grinding beans a bit courser.- 3 min brew time max. It is so good at holding heat you can easily over brew and get a bitter taste.- hot water will stay in contact with the grounds if you brew and drink from the mug. Again another chance for bitterness. This is a great brew-mug if you are a minimalist who likes to hit the world fast and hard first thing in the morning. The only thing I would change is to put supported fine mesh in instead of the strainer press.

Great Coffee, Easy to Use, Great Service
My first Presse coffee maker made a great cup of coffee but after a month it became nearly impossible to remove the plunger. When I contacted the seller of this product, O2Cool, they immediately offered me two new coffee makers for free to see if they worked better. They work perfectly after several months. The Presse makes a wonderful 12-14 ounces of coffee that stays hot for a long period of time in its well insulated container. While it is true that the lid starts off with an unpleasant smell and taste, it disappeared after a few days of soaking and washing. I have never experienced such a positive response from a company as I did with O2COOL. I love the quality and convenience of making great coffee with such a well designed and easy to clean product.

Bought these for friends and family too
These are great. Keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for hours. Great for making quick single cup French press every morning. The rubber lid means it works for years and doesn’t start leaking and having issues like plastic lids do. Also perfect for taking camping. And fits in car cup holders which not all do.

Room for improvement
Overall, great concept, with two gripes. The top of the inner wall (that the lid goes on, and you push on) is quite thin, and bends easy. If they would roll or fold the edge to make it thicker (and more bend resistant) that would make this thing near perfect. The other nit-pick, is that it ships with almost no packaging to protect it in shipment, which makes it easy for the thin wall of the top to get bent.I may return this one and see if I have better luck. The one I received was bent in transit, which causes the top to leak if I don’t make sure to position the drinking spout directly opposite the bent section.Otherwise/overall great concept and well made product. Easy to use, keeps coffee hot (and I do mean hot) for hours, fairly easy to clean. Love the convenience, and portability.
