Probably means it is a print on canvas and not an actual shelf, which is obvious but there may be some who may not think so.

Q: Is the stand included?

No, it comes rolled up and is very effective. let it hang in a warm room for a couple of days to let the creases drop put. A friendly piece of advice, visit your local carpet shop and ask them for any unwanted heavy cardboard tubes that they may have from the middle of carpet rolls. You can roll your backdrops onto the tubes I have taken hundreds of commercial photos with this and everybody remarked how so very lifelike. With regards to the stand they are readily available and reasonably priced, I have four so that I can vary all the backdrops in my studio at the same time. You do need something substantial, I use fabric backdrops which are considerably heavier than the polyester type

Q: How far does the camera have to be from the backdrop to get a realistic image of the backdrop and the pixels are not obvious?

It will depend on the camera that you are using but i have had no problems at all except when using a phone camera which my children do on the odd occasion. I use a 5D MK 4 with various lenses in my studio from wide angle to medium zoom lenses. 99% of the results are so good and realistic that in some shots I even have people reaching with fingers touching the backdrop as if to remove a book, very life like. I am very pleased with this particular backdrop
