Really good set of mics. Accurate too
Super nice for the price

Great for beginners
I bought these to lend to the new guys to use and not mess up my mitutoyo set. They work great and I actually use these a lot myself. They aren’t like the old Chinese made gauges. They are smooth and accurate. If your just getting into the trade or need to add to your current box these seem to be well worth the money.

Accuracy
Package arrived safe with all the correct pieces, wood box was good for the money. The problem is that 3 out of the 6 micrometers are out of advertised tolerance, or the included gauge blocks/rods are not accurate. Advertised accuracy was .0001. When I set zero and run out 1”, three of the six were off by .0002, ,0003 and .0004. I realize these are not a $2k set but it would be nice if they were as accurate as advertised. Not sure at this point if I’m going to keep the set and borrow a better set of test blocks or just order a different set of micrometers. On the 6” micrometer the lock for the spindle is not smooth and catches every now and then (minor issue). I ran all accuracy testing 4 times per micrometer with the included gauge blocks, all readings were the same each time. Good stuff: 1. Box is good for the money. 2. Gauges function very consistent and smooth. 4. Measuring Ends were all consistent and polished well. 5. Numbers and lines are clear and well placed 3. Overall good quality for the money. Maybe I can ask for new gauge blocks or 3 replacement micrometers. Probably would need both to validate accuracy. If I can verify the accuracy against a good set of gauge blocks I’ll upgrade my rating to 5

Accurate and Precise out of the box
I never write reviews but had to since I was so impressed with this product. For context; bought these for an engine rebuild (as I suspect many of you are). I’m a Mechanical Engineer so I know my way around precision measuring tools. That also means I have access to “brand-name” gage blocks and micrometers (Mitutoyo) that I used to check this set. I was expecting to have to calibrate them to match, however all of the micrometers were within way less than one thou of the Mitutoyo. In fact the 1” and 4” mic seemed exactly spot on down to the 0.0001”. If you have access to an expensive (Starret or Mitutoyo) micrometer I recommend you do the same. If not, at least invest in 2x 1”x3” gage blocks- this will allow you to check and calibrate all of the mic’s in this set (stack two gage blocks together on opposing axis to make 4”). Invest good money here- your measurement device is only as good as the baseline. If all I had were the gage blocks than I would’ve been fine. The Mitutoyo was just extra reassurance. I wouldn’t trust the gages that come with the kit, but honestly I didn’t even measure them since I had the gage blocks. Maybe they’re also accurate? Doubt it. The one gripe I have is the ratcheting action may give false readings when used “properly”. However, again comparing with the Mitutoyo, I was able to get accurate readings by continuing to spin the ratchet handle after the first time it sticks. It takes a little time but it’s well worth it. Don’t trust the first time the action catches- continue to spin it, and it’ll likely jump a thou or two as you do. Once it hasn’t changed measurement after spinning it 5-6 times, you can be happy with your reading. Again- this is what I found. It’d be helpful to measure some gage blocks using the same methodology and see how many turns your mic’s register or if you need to do this at all! The Mitutoyo had a friction slip which was very precise and such low friction that there was no need nor point in turning it after it stopped- always dead on the first time. The $1k+ difference in price however is well worth the extra trouble, especially after seeing the accuracy. The case is plenty adequate. Not the fancy wooden boxes that you get with name brand. But it’s padded and plastic with desiccant so there’s no concern of condensation. Note there’s no inspection or calibration certificate. Overall, highly recommended this kit if you’re in the market.

works as intended
work perfect just a little stiff at first. accurate measurements. showed up in a thick polymer case that seals tight. has foam to protect the individual mics. comes with everything listed but i was expecting the wooden box but not displeased with the current case. actually prefer it.

Surprisingly good
I use these for lathe work. I cannot vouch for the absolute accuracy but realistically you use them to compare the dimension of one part to another, like say when you are machining an interference fit. For this they are very good indeed and the fact they measure within 1/10th of 1 thousandths of an inch, well for the price these are excellent.

Good Mikes for the Price
These are not Starrett but they are 1/4 the price. For the average measuring and machining I normally do, these work well. They are fairly accurate and accurate enough for most tasks. Nice case.

Measuring crank journal and pistons.
Worked great for my engine build.

They are very nice and the measurements are very accurate, however they are not set to perfect 0” so you’ll have to calibrate them yourself. Mine where about by about .002 so not much but it’s enough to make a difference Thanks
