Perfect for Opening my Water Meter
I needed to open the water meter cover in front of my house to shut off the water supply to the whole house. This was the only way I could replace several corroded gate valves that no longer shut off the water to areas of the house. This socket perfectly fit the bolt on my water meter, and saved me a lot of time on this headache project. I'd recommend the 1/2" drive over the 3/8" because the water meter bolt takes a decent amount of torque to turn. It's a useful tool to keep in the tool box.

High quality
Great quality. Measure your bolt to see if this socket fits. Measure from the center of one flat to the center of an opposite flat (same procedure for penta bolt as for hex bolt).

Works as good as the specialized wrenches.
You can buy a whole wrench or just the socket. I chose the socket because I can store it in my drawer with all the other sockets instead of having to hang the big wrench on the wall. And yes, it worked on the round lid covering my water meter.
