Strong and Thin Lock-On Grip
The picture is wrong I believe (it is the silver color not the black), but the description is right, as I received the black grips with black clamps.I like a thinner grip and love these. I replaced a worn out pair of Bontrager Race Lite Lock-On grips with these and love them. The grips are the same width (thin) as the Bontragers, which I loved. The rubber is tacky and grippy with the diamonds, but not gummy or sticky. They give solid bar feel. Lock-on grips are the only way to go for serious mountain biking, as they do not slip around or work their way off the bars. This bonus pack comes with two grips, two sets of clamps (four clamps), two sets of screws (four screws, hidden in one of the grips), and two bar plugs that get popped into the outside clamp and locked on, not like the shoddy ones that insert into the bar tube. The clamps come loose and are a bit hard to get on the grip itself; I used a soft mallet and gently tapped them on one at a time, with the grip vertical on a soft mat. The clamps are the same for the inside and outside of the grip. Mount the clamps onto the grips first, then put a cap on one side of each, and then slide them onto the bars. Position the grips and then screw the clamp down, taking care not to over-torque the screws. The clamping action is pretty strong, and you shouldn't need to torque down hard to make them tight enough not to slip.ODI grips are made in the USA.I ride cross country and enduro/all mountain on a Titus X.

Excellent grips
These are great grips. They're on the thin side, which I like. Great texture and feel, excellent build quality. However, they do become slippery in the rain if riding with bare hands. The lock-on grip style is excellent; I'll never go back to regular grips. A few reasons: 1) They install so much more easily than regular rubber grips. No more messing with lubrication and fighting to slide tight rubber tubes onto the bars. 2) You can easily uninstall and re-install them, which is important for accessing your shifters and brakes for upgrades/maintenance. With regular grips, you might have to cut them off and throw them away. 3) Although lock-on grips have higher up-front cost than regular slide-on grips, they're more economical in the long run because you can buy inexpensive grip replacements and re-use your same clamps and end caps. It also makes it easy to swap out your grip style if you want to experiment. The diamond pattern on the Ruffian grips wore down on one side after a season of riding. I rotated them 180deg so my palm would rest on the fresh side, and I'll swap them out that side wears down.

They Ripped on the First Crash..
So I actually really like these grips. I ride with gloves, but I needed a pretty tacky set of lock-on grips and went straight for Odi's. Comfortable, affordable, easy to install, plenty of grip and they look great imo, buuut... I bashed them against a tree at moderate speed and noticed that it cut the rubber open so now there's an inch-long flap of rubber. It's not a huge deal, still ridable, but it bothers my OCD so I bought myself another set. In all honesty, I was looking for an excuse to get a red set anyways. It was concerning how thin the rubber grip was though, only about 1/8" thick, or 3mm for everyone else. I'd totally snag a pair of these, just be careful not to bash your handlebars into trees. Oh, and don't put them on Walmart bikes- I got a set for my sister's Walmart bike, but they're way too long. They grip fine, but she took a spill on some leaves and the end of the handle shattered. Totally my fault, there was nothing under the end of the grip to keep it solid, but just be aware. If you put it on a Walmart bike, you'll want to get a new set of handlebars (which you should do anyway if riding a cheap bike) that are at least 700mm wide.

Sturdiness and quality
I ordered this pair for my grandson for his bike. I didn’t know that was the kind he was looking for. When he received it he thanked me for it. So for the most part I did great.😃 By the way my grandson loves it.

Best grips ever made
I love ODI clamp on grips. Use them on my pedal bikes and my motor-driven dirt bikes. I will never buy anything else.
