IntervetAMERIC Safe-Guard Paste Gun

This is the same Merck-branded paste gun you can buy at the farm supply store for the 290 gram tubes of Safe-guard dewormer. We use safe-guard off-label (on recommendation of our farm vet) for our flock of sheep. This works basically like a caulk gun (load the tube, depress the trigger to dose). Each trigger press doses for 220lbs, and each tube contains 58 doses. Although the dosage is a little high for most sheep, it isn't a harmful amount and helps ensure that you don't under-dose (which allows parasites to build resistance faster). I line the sheep up in a chute and go down the line, giving everyone one click. It costs me about 50% less than buying the liquid stuff or the dosing tubes. I also don't have to fiddle around with measurements, which saves a lot of time and stress on me, the sheep, and the dog responsible for keeping them in the chute.The applicator itself is pretty heavy-duty and should hold up well to farm-use. Note that the safe-guard tubes won't fit in other applicators I've looked at. The other tubes/applicators have three tabs that lock the tube in place. The safe-guard setup has four tabs. That being said, the safe-gaurd applicator is about half the price of the other ones.Amazon was a good value. I had to wait a few days for it to arrive, but the local farm supply stores only carry one in stock at each store, and I got tired of playing musical-chairs only to find that it had been sold a few hours earlier. Amazon's price was also a few bucks cheaper. If you have been using the other forms of safe-guard, this actually pays for itself with the first tube.

Was perfect for our Safe-Guard 290g Dewormer for Cattle. I had seen some questions that were answered incorrectly which said it would work with CPK Dewormer. Received the package and it says on works only on Safe-Guard 290g Dewormer

Well I emailed asking if this will fit the cmpk paste tubes. They emailed back that it will. IT DOES NOT! Spend the money and buy the big nice gun from the vet stores. All involved were not happy with this gun! If you want yourself, husband and milk cow covered in pasted and mad. Then by all means buy this.
