Did anyone try using the replacement adhesive? How to get rid of the first adhesive stuck on the ring?

Buy a tin of Labelclene - Insanely good stuff at getting rid of sticky stuff left behind from anything, i've used Labelclene on many surfaces including TV scree, and Car windows (childs stickers both times).

No, it will not charge whilst this is on

Does this contain a magnet, or is it just a metal surface for a magnet to attach to?

No magnet at all, it’s stuck in with a couple sided sortve puffy pad thing. Basically a puffy sticker. I had mine on for about a year before replacing the whole case, but this stayed stuck on well and good! Hope this helps
