Is it fast? For £22, it reads with >200MB/s and writes at 60MB/s, as tested with crystaldiskmark. I have researched numerous usb sticks and no other comes close to this speed at this price.NOTE: this comes preformated as exFAT, NOT FAT32 or NTFS.I didn’t want to spend £37 on the sandisk extreme usb stick which has write speeds in excess of 100MB/s so this Samsung one at £22 for 128GB seemed reasonable, especially considering the alternatives - don’t buy Sandisk Dual usb or the Cruzer series - they are SO slow with write speeds between 10-20MB/s.Plus, this stick is metal, and can take a beating which the plastic bodied sandisk ones cannot!

After having my fingers burnt on a 128gb flash I put this one through its paces just to be sure.It was tested with fakeflashtest and it passed at 128gb, usable 119gb. I also put on a multiply 8.5gb file filled with all different type files, it loaded them onto the flash between 33mb/s & 49mb/s, then I moved them from the flash drive to the PC and it ranged between 130mb/s & 298mbs but mostly above 200mb/s on a normal USB 3.0 But I did have it optimized.(Plug in the flash drive, > Device Manager > Disc drives "choose the flash" then > properties > Polices, and then check the second box down to make the drive faster, BUT you must use the "EJECT" button for the drive, makes it all a lot quicker)So that concludes my thoughts and test on the drive, but it is tiny! I think it need something on it so it does not get lost in my draw!A very fast drive and I am one happy bunny.

Wer selbst beim Kauf eines USB-Sticks Wert auf die Optik des Produkts legt, ist bei dem Samsung Bar Plus gut aufgehoben: Das Design ist hervorragend und insbesondere die Farbe "Titan Gray" hinterlässt mit ihrem matten Finish einen edlen Eindruck. Die Verabeitung ist hochwertig und die Haptik kann ebenfalls überzeugen. Des Weiteren gefällt mir auch die Größe und Form des Sticks sehr gut: Er ist nicht zu klobig, aber auch nicht so klein, dass man ihn leicht verliert oder es zu Problemen bei der Handhabung kommt. Die Erhöhung am Ende des Sticks erleichtert vor allem das Herausziehen aus dem USB-Port.Für alle, die darüber hinaus auch noch bzw. ausschließlich auf absolute Performance Wert legen, ist der Stick jedoch nicht die erste Wahl, da man leider insbesondere bei der Schreibgeschwindgkeit deutliche Abstriche in Kauf nehmen muss. Die auf der Verpackung der 128 GB- und 256 GB-Variante beworbene Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 300 MB/s bezieht sich logischerweise nur auf die Lesegeschwindigkeit und wird in meinen Tests auch durchaus erreicht. Aber leider ist dies ja immer nur ein Teil der Wahrheit und im tatsächlichen Einsatz ist für mich gerade die Höhe der Schreibgeschwindigkeit besonders wichtig. Dass diese gegenüber der Lesegeschwindigkeit abfällt ist erwartbar, dass der Unterschied allerdings so gravierend ausfällt, ist dann aber schon eine ziemliche Enttäuschung. Die Schreibgeschwindgkeit bewegte sich in verschiedenen Tests im Bereich um 40 MB/s. Hier hatte ich mir einfach mehr versprochen und bin der Meinung, dass eine Schreibgeschwindigkeit im Bereich von zumindest 70-80 MB/s eigentlich kein technisch unüberwindbares Hinderniss darstellten sollte.Die Kombination von ansprechender Optik und Leistung ist gut, aber nicht optimal gelungen. Dafür gibt es dann am Ende auch einen Stern Abzug. Aus Mangel an Alternativen, bei denen diese beiden Eigenschaften noch besser miteinander vereint sind, werde ich den Samsung Bar Plus aber wohl trotzdem behalten.

Having bought a few different memory cards recently I was very disappointed with this Samsung model after reading some raving reviews.First of all it is very compact, so if you need to free up space it would be very useful, but on the other hand it is so small that it could easily be lost without attaching to something larger like a key chain.Secondly, the write speeds are fairly low for the price.Finally, it is far too tight when inserting in to ports, I tested it on various machines and all the time it was difficult inserting and removing leading to scratching on the product.

This is another style & performance triumph for Samsung. It's like a tiny spaceship, metal unibody, elegantly curved, solidly weighty. It also performs - compared to my other USB3 flash drives, it storms ahead, the standard ones running at around 20MB/s while this one is more than double that in the low 40MB/s.In fact I'm so pleased with the style and performance that I've ordered another, this time the 256GB model.Edit: this 256GB one is even faster. Nowhere even close to the 300MB/s claimed, more around 50-60MB/s, but that is triple what my older plastic USB3 drives can manage, and crucially unlike the plastic ones there is no thermal drop-off in speed, perhaps because of the metal body dissipating the heat.
