Advertised as hand forged- but doesn't appear to be. Appears to be machine formed and then a few dimples added to make it look hand forged. But, you can heat it up and hammer it all over and make it look hand forged- so, for the price with free shipping- it's a pretty good deal.

Arrived as expected
Solid construction, no defects, very reasonable price. Packaging in the box was a plain plastic bag which felt a bit flimsy, but it's not like this was likely to be damaged anyway. Be wary that if you need to widen the holes like I did, you'll need a vise on hand.

a little small
My son bought this for his "armor" he is building. He likes to get parts of things and build his own. It was too small for what he wanted to do with it. He had expected it to be larger.

Better quality than expected
If you read any of my other reviews this is just so happened to be for the same friend who was making homemade Shields in his garage. He actually said it was a better material with the weight that it had the look and so forth then he thought. So, I guess I'll give it 5 stars from him.
