3LT Evolution 2 Eddie Travel Tripod Kit with Blue Airhed 2

The only thing is that I think there are better heads out there
I just took a week long photo excursion trip and had to carry a tripod, and with all the camera gear I carry I wanted something as light as possible. This tripod was superb for that! The only thing is that I think there are better heads out there. Some people will like this head, but I prefer the ones from Really Right Stuff, especially when coupled with their L-bracket. The Blue Airhed 2 is okay for most situations.I found this tripod stable yet light, easy to fold up and extend. I loved the case which made it an easy carry on for the plane. If you are traveling and do not want to lug extra pounds, this tripod is excellent. I was out night shooting with it in the middle of a desert in Utah, gentle wind and all, and it was stable. It does have a little hook in the center so you could hang extra weight if you think you need to.

Great portable tripod!
Love this thing! It's a travel tripod, so it's relatively light, and more compact than many others, and that means that it is something of a compromise by design, but the results are great in most situations. I find it to be sturdy, easy to set up and use, sufficiently compact and light, and very adaptable to different situations. As any travel tripod, it is a compromise - so it could be more sturdy, it could be lighter, it could have a head with more flexibility, or quicker releases on the legs, but on the whole, I think the balance is very good and I've been thrilled using it.

Poor product quality and unreliable service from the manufacturer.
I have been using it occasionally over a year. The tripod looks nice and comes with a good carry bag. However, the overall performance has been poor. The twist mechanism of the legs are confusing as you twist a bit more, inadvertently, the legs would get loose and come out. Putting them back can also be a bit of challenge as there are small white plasticy washers inside which require alignment while tightening the rings. The Airhed 2 is utterly frustrating as it would start rotating clockwise by sizable degrees as you tighten the knob of the ball head.I needed an additional QR plate. But 3LT has discontinued Eddie along with Airhed 2. It looks like, to recover the costs, I have to buy a new ball head from another brand. I would not buy any product from 3LT in future. They might discontinue any product quickly after the purchase. 3LT has discontinued as per their website ten of their well touted models.BTW, when I searched for Eddie (Evolution 2 Tripod), the 3LT's website flagged the following message at the end:"Sorry! There are no products matching the selection.* Have you considered the possibility that you dreamed their existence, and that the electro-megatronic difibrulising tank-jet is not yet available for purchase?"
