Hutzler Onion Saver, Yellow

I love this, I got other savers too ...tomato, green bell pepper, lemon, grapefruit, garlic. They are easy to use and wash up easy too. I don't have spoilage problems in my refrigerator now. At least not onions, garlic, tomato etc.I need a few of these that are shaped and look like leftovers so my leftovers don't spoil ...I wouldn't forget they are in the refrig) I don't know if these items keep things fresh longer (I'm thinking they probably do keep longer but I can't say for sure)or if its because now I know when I have a cut onion in the refrig, they make my cut onions easy to find and keep the smell out of the refrig too. Now I only have 1 cut at a time rather then several in the refrigerator at once. I open the refrig and see the onion, before I kept cut onions in baggies or foil, needless to say they spoiled before being used and I would have 2 or 3 cut onions at a time because I'd forget that I had a cut onion and would just grab another one. If I find myself using another veg or fruit often and I can buy a Hutzler Onion saver for that fruit I certainly will. I would definately recommend a friend purchasing these. They seem to take more space in the refrig but it's worth it. I got this Dec 3, 2013, I've been using it 5 months, I'll never go back to baggies, they have hit the floor and not broke or cracked, if one breaks I would definately order another one. Some of the others spend more time in the cubbards ...like the lemon one, I rarely use that one but glad I bought it because the lemon definately would have spoiled...I would have forgot it was there. Even though its rarely used I'm glad I bought it. My cubbard space is limited due to my kitchen being small but I never get upset about the lemon saver being in the way I move it aside to get a plate or bowl and set it back down. These are one of the best things in my kitchen and wouldn't want to go back to using baggies or foil. Do your self a favor and when you buy one ...get one of each type of your most used fruits and veggies. Once you get the onion saver, you'll wish you had the tomato saver too. I'm just an amazon customer no promotion or compensation received for writing this review, I'm sharing so you can feel comfortable getting one for yourself. I saw some reviews stating they are hard to open or they broke and I can't imagine how they broke or why they would be difficult to open ...just twist/turn the top and lift.

It arrived on time and as described. My daughter in law loved these so much she gave them away as small Christmas gifts to her coworkers. Seems like an odd gift until you actually use it and discover it keeps the cut onion fresh longer, and also contains the smell! No more weird onion taste wafting through the veggie bin! -The plastic is thin, so don't drop it, and I would suggest not putting it in the freezer, although that is just *my* opinion, other users may have found it just fine in the freezer. I imagine after a few years it will become too brittle -but who knows? -The screw type lid can stick sometimes and other times just twirls on without and issue at all! My suggestion is to make sure you have everything lined up properly and never force it, if you need to force the lid, it isn't aligned correctly. -->The deal is, once the lid is on correctly, it makes a tight seals that keeps air out and odors in. Bottom line: Highly recommend, would purchase again if needed.

Love this for onions . No smell in refrigerator as with plastic bags. Also bought a red one for red onions too

I purchased this and finally had a chance to use it. I had put a unused portion of an onion and it kept it fresh. There was no order leakage from the container, so my fridge did not smell of an onion. The price was reasonable. It was a little difficult to open back up, I did have to use a table knife to open it up. I would recommend this product.

Great product. It works! Keeps onions fresh and crisp without leaving any strong odors in my refrigerator. I highly recommend. I'm going to order for other types of vegetables.

Apart from looking good in my fridge and counter top, this product absolutely failed at containing the onion smell - my fridge stank after just an hour! I made sure it was tightly shut but to no avail. Also VERY difficult to open and close properly as the grooves don’t align well. So I have gone back to my trusty click lock plastic storage containers, and my fridge is odour free once more.

O pote é muito bonito, fácil de visualizar na geladeira e fica bem vedado, não vaza cheiro. Porém, é maior que uma cebola grande inteira, ocupa um espaço razoável e é meio chatinho pra fechar, porque tem que rosquear no ponto certinho.

Bueno solo que no es tan grande como otras marcas, le cabe y a cebolla de aproximadamente 150 grs entera.
