Blockchain Basics: A Non-Technical Introduction in 25 Steps

Original print! Well, that was just to set the tone. Flipped few pages and already motivated. Will add to my review upon completion. After 3 weeks: If you are a newbie in Blockchain space and hopping through websites and online classes to get the right tone that resonates with you so that you could gain confidence as you move ahead in your endeavor... Try this book. It is simplistic so much that you will learn what 'Mining' is without even realizing till it hits you. (I quoted Mining as it got me confused and few people asked me what it is and i did not had a simple answer). I would recommend to have an online course in parallel with this book as it will provide a good reference point.

This book is excellent as an introduction to Blockchain for someone who knows nothing about it, broken up into bite-sized "steps". Note that you *will* need SOME background in programming, it's not for COMPLETE newbies or whatever, as the blurb might have you believe (in particular hashes). My only gripes about it were that the word "nonce" was not in the index :( , and that it keeps referring to Blockchain as "THE" Blockchain - I'm not sure why this was necessary, or why the author did that - is that indeed the correct usage of the term? Otherwise - if you want to start with Blockchain, start here :)

I really liked this book. It is my first book on blockchain and I have answers to every question I have in mind.

Such a clear treatment of the subject. I was happy to read a technical book with such clarity in a very long time. Introduces the complicated underlying technology layers of blockchain in a progressive manner with beautiful analogies and examples. Kudos.

HORRIBLE BOOK CONDITION , UNREADABLE

this book is useless it does not delve into any detail. Okay, it says there are no formulas but it feels like the author wants to explain the topic to a 5-year-old kid. If you want to understand something about blockchain and PPN this book will not suffice

I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to know what the blockchain is, how it functions and what areas of society it can be applied to, without the need for too much technical jargon. It is explained in a step by step guide and at the end of every chapter is a summary to cement the details into your mind before you move onto the next step. I wanted to know about the blockchain because of cryptocurrencies, and I can see now why the banks don't want you to get involved in crypto. Why? Because the blockchain will make the banks obsolete, as it will with all businesses providing a middleman service. The blockchain appears to be the next industrial revolution and we are at the starting line. Exciting times.

I've read a lot of books on blockchain and this one is hands down the best of them. Breaks down the workings of a blockchain to an easy to understand format. I like the authors use of analogy to get his point across. A book for both the lay person and the more advanced.

C'est juste le livre parfait pour se familiariser avec les concepts et le vocabulaire. Il ne se concentre pas sur une technologie en particulier mais il donne les principes de fonctionnement, expliqués de façon très claire. Evidemment il faut y dédier suffisamment d'attention et de temps pour suivre le fil des explication puisque ça reste un sujet technique.

Di non tecnico non c'è solo la descrizione in step della blockchain, ma anche l'inglese. A differenza di altri testi sulla blockchain, da leggere con il vocabolario in mano, iI testo di questo libro è facilmente leggibile anche se non si hanno conoscenze approfondite di inglese tecnico. L'autore guida il lettore nella scoperta della blockchain passo dopo passo, costruendo il puzzle dalle basi fino a mostrarne il quadro completo in maniera molto chiara, avvolgente e abbastanza approfondita. Non sono uno che legge molto, ma questo libro l'ho finito in soli 3 giorni.
