I think its a misprint, i get this one and you get 3xboxes of 16 pods, so should read 16 x 3 count. 48 in total. Hope that helps.

I shake the pods before putting them in my machine however when I cut open the pods to empty them sometimes they still contain powder, why?

Because the pods contain actual coffee grounds and ground coffee does not desolve
