This title has been replaced by The Clinician's Guide to CBT Using Mind Over Mood, Second Edition (ISBN 978-1-4625-4257-4). Review: Great resource - I am a graduate student in a clinical psychology program. This book was recommended by my practicum professor. It was so helpful when writing my final case conceptualization. I highly recommend this book as it formatted differently than the newest version. Review: More for a clinician than for the actual patient - If I read the title "closer" I wouldn't have bought it, it comes from the perspective of being a clinician instead of being the patient or person who "needs the insight" Although I will read it, as it MAY just surprise me and by telling me stories of each patients situation, I may be able to relate and therefore it could help me more than I am thinking it will right now......... I have only just started reading the book and so far it is interesting and educational. The ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I am not a clinician, but like I stated above, IT MAY JUST SURPRISE ME TO READ IT FROM THE CLINICIAN'S SIDE VERSUS BEING THE PATIENT. I am hoping that by explaining each of chapters, it will help me better to understand why and what I can do when I get in high anxiety modes

I love how the book gives role play examples between clinician and client. It really helps visualize how situations with a client would play out.

Useful Companion to the Workbook
The Clinician's Guide is a useful companion to the Mind Over Mood workbook. The guide is especially helpful for graduate students and relatively new clinicians, if you are an experienced CBT clinician, this book is not essential, however, like most works there is good information to be gleaned here. Bottom line, the guide is helpful but not essential, simply going through the workbook yourself should provide you with enough practical experience to use the workbook effectively.

Awful
Had to purchase this book for a class. It is terrible and never should have been a required reading. Every other phrase is "use/read/assign Mind Over Mood"... Your client has no interest in using a book throughout the therapy process? Use Mind Over Mood! Your client doesn't want to use Mind Over Mood? Have them read and do the worksheets in Mind Over Mood! It is entirely non-useful for anything but a poorly disguised advertisement for the client version of Mind Over Mood. BTW, if you found this review to be irritatingly repetitive, don't buy the book. It's more of the same.

Great addition to every clinician's library!
A must have for every therapist who deals with clients with depression and anxiety. Works in tandem with Padesky's classic work "Mind over Mood" which I use over and over and over again.

Great 'Hands On' information book for those writing academic essays and professionals
Brilliant CBT book, essential for those writing academic essays. Easy to read and gives excellent 'How to do' information. Not a book which provides 'history of CBT'. Highly recommended

CBT orientated.
Very CBT orientated, with goals, tips and hints to work towards. I believe there's an additional book to go with this for the client to use so you can work through it together. Some useful suggestions, but not my style - I'm person-centered.
