These 6x9's ROCK HARD ! Best overall value of any competitor.
These Clarion 5-way 6x9's and 2-wa7 5 1/4's ROCK HARD ! Absolute uncontested most bang for the buck on the market today and best kept secret judging by lack of ratings and customer exposure and I have had JBL GTOs, Polk DB series, Infinity Kappas, Pioneers, Kickers and Rockford Fosgate before, all of them. I primarily like Rock and Metal, so these work perfectly for that application (so would the 5-way Pioneers) and they do not require a ton of after market amplification to produce clean crisp vocals and highs with pretty nice base response. You can use the small clarion or alpine amp in the glove box if your current tuner receiver is low wattage, only set you back $100 or so and have a nice stereo system. Sold my previous Polk Amp and Speaker setup with my Dodge Ram Longhorn Extended cab, $2k worth, but the current Clarion Speaker and Sony Receiver with 40 RMS x 4 channel built-in AMP works just fine in my 1971 Mustang and can even hear the music over the Rumble of the 351 Cleveland V8 4 barrel and Flowmaster Headers :-) Now for the more Modern Camaro SS that I have, probably replace the fake labeled Boston Acoustics the Infinities would be sweet, but require a better amp. The stock paper dealios do work decent with the factory amp and stereo...

The very best option for a quality upgrade
I have no interest in creating a "bumping" system. I just simply want to turn the music up when I'm riding with no one in the car and it sound good. No new deck, no amps, etc - just good speakers. My husband helped me replace my Jeep's factory speakers with these and WOW! They blew us both away!!!! There were notes I have never heard in songs before I suddenly heard. Truly, the greatest $60 I have ever spent. So now we are ordering the same for his truck and will re-do his factory speakers. I am so very happy I ordered these. An affordable quality product upgrade and I am pleased as punch :-)

5ways: A smart upgrade of stoke 2way
I replaced my Polk db 6x9 3ways with these, since my polk's got a new ride..Now Clarion- the speakers are clear and crisp playing midz and high..the base is weak bt if you have a sub den you won't complain. The speakers should be tuned well..you need to suppress the high frequency..the 33kHz is annoying..bt it's quite good if you tune it up well. I wud still recommend Polk or kicker..there is something dats missing ..I don't kno wat it is..I nvr tuned my equaliser for Polk..bt now I took almost half a day tuning my head unit and ampz. May be its coze der is a wide band of frequency to tune up.after all dats wat 5 ways are all about..again NO BASS absolutely nothing...

Buy this one! (UPDATED)
Awesome sound. Way too much high frequencies at loud volume but easy to fix with EQ. It handle's a lot of power too. I use it on a Alpine PDX-100.4 bridged with a active crossover that remove's the deep bass.EDIT: Annnnd they're gone. Bass kept getting in the tweeters no matter the filtering I did. Not bass per say but enough waveform height to slowly but surely kill them. The speakers are now clicking all the time. They were a replacement for the same speakers but much older and 20w less powerfull (rms per speakers) I had before for many years and that ARE STILL working A1. I tried to add a secondary passive crossover to cut anything lower that 6kHz but it was too late they were far too gone.

These are crystal clear at a high volume. I have subs and these can put out over powering clear highs and mids while I run my two 10's with 2000 watts. I put in Fosgate 6×9 speakers and they blew in a month. I doubt these will blow considering they rms at 100 watts. Thsee can be amplified. I hooked them to a more powerful head unit and I am extremely excited about the sound.

I got better bass response out of the cheap 5x8's I put in my Ford. They are decent at producing mids and obviously great for diverse highs, but I expect much more low response out of a 6x9. I have 3 subs and a 2500 watt amp so I get my lows, but if you aren't putting subs in your car you need a to look elsewhere.
